Hey everyone.I'm looking for some help on turkey decoys. This is going be my first year hunting turkeys. I have a blind and my recurve ready to go. There is so many decoys out there and don't know what to buy. Any suggestions would be great.

This is my first year hunting turkeys too. I went with Primos B mobile and she mobile. I just thought they looked the best for the money. I got a real tail and beard for the jake. they look great although I have to wait 3 weeks to try them. Good luck.

I just got a hen and jake from WINGSUPPLY for 5.99 each. They look very good. Just like the 20 dollar ones at Bass Pro. I got the rubber ones not the foam. I hope to try em out in the a.m. Lil bro and I got 4 shipped for about 30 bucks. Arrived in 6 days.
I've been using Feather-flex decoys for years, mostly because I'm too lazy to carry anything heavier, oh and because they work! One tip I would offer, if you use a jake decoy most of the time when an old gobbler comes in he will walk right up face to face with the jake. At least this has been my experience, plan accordingly and you could end up with a really good chance to draw undetected. Good luck, be safe, and be sure to post the pics!
I have The inflatable Jake and hen decoys with real life heads. If a tom jumps on the jake they will trash it and you have to buy another but it cost $17.99. I put the hen bedded infront of the Jake like he is going to bread her and that also stops or slows a tom from attacking the Jake decoy and damageing it for whatever reason? I used the decoys yesterday evening had 4 jakes come in and jump around the decoys plus two toms about a hr later did the same all less than 10ft from me.The good part is I can take the air out of the decoys and put two of them in my medium sized fanny packs. I was looking at buying a $150 decoy which looks better to my eye but is harder to carry. I am glad I saved my money now even if I have to spend $30 a year on new decoys its worth it for me to loose the extra bulk and weight of other decoys on the market.Plus these suckers are working perfect for me.

I just picked up two of the decoys on that page. For 5.99 a piece you cant beat them. Even they are ugly as all crap a little craft paint and you can make the heads look pretty good.
Has anybody bought the Sports Product Rubber Turkey Decoy from that sight? Just wondering how they looked. Those are the ones that I bought.

WOW, those Dave Smith decoys look like the real thing! I can understand the price as they appear to be hand painted/detailed to near taxidermy quality but they are certainly out of my price range.
I've used the featherflex collapsable foam decoys for a few years and a year or two I bought a jake from Dicks Sporting goods called Taxidermy eyes or something like that. Better quality than feather flex but more of a stiffer rubber material that is collapsable but definitely not quite a packable due to the stiffness difference. Looks real good with the taxidermy eyes and pretty good coloring. Not in the same league as the Dave Smith ones but real good for about $30 or $40 bucks.
I have a couple of hte inflatable kind (not sure of the brand) but I've never tried them as they look like cartoon turkeys to me.
I have these: Molded Head Inflatable Turkey Decoys From Cherokee Sports. I have the Jake and hen model and attached pictures of them. The hen looks the best the Jake has a purple tint to him up front but it doesn't seem to matter every tom that has seem him trys to take him out on sight. The hen looks way better than any foam hen decoy I have owned and packs up really,really small.I took the Jake decoy down mid afternoon yesterday and just left the hen out. I had a hen come in and peck my decoy in the head for several minutes it was cool to watch. Then she just hung out in the area calling to my decoy every so often I think she was lonely.I hate to tell her pecking another hen's head is not the best way to make a friend.

Another plus to the inflatable decoys is you can use them on the beach or in your pool during the off season try that with a mounted tom decoy LOL :biglaugh:
I have always been a fan of the Delta Pro decoys. $15-$20. Very reasonable and realistic.
I used the Spin-n-Strut decoy last year. I had more birds in close to my blind using this decoy than any other I have ever used.
It's not cheap! But it's a great decoy....I would highly recommend it to any turkey hunter.

Another vote for the DSD. I looks very real and works killer, literally.
The cool thing is that Dave Smith is a very nice guy and bowhunter.
