I have an absolute perfect gray fox pelt. It was tanned and softened and the only openings are the eyes and mouth. It measures about 3' from the nose to the tip of the tail. It is a beauty. I don't like back quivers so....other than hanging it from the snout for looks what other ideas can the gang come up with?
thanks in advance
Danny
I always thought if you did not have little kids around it would be cool to hang a fur like a coyote or something maybe the fox over the back of my recliner where the head rest is. I would want it split kind of like a bear rug sounds like yours is case skinned. Just an idea.
that's funny Mo. Huntin because it's actually lying on the back of a recliner right now. and yep' it is case skinned.
thanks
You could make a lokota style side quiver out of it.
Danny
Make a hat. Make a bowcase. Make some slippers. Make some bow-handles.
good ideas Tom but dang....he's only so big. :banghead:

Haha, I suppose you're right.
another idea that just came to me. Why not make a couple of stubby holders? That wouldn't be hard at all.
Here's a plains quiver I did a few years ago with a nice cross fox:

And here's one of Barb's with the face still on:

those are really nice Jeremy! I like the face on the best.
There are only a few tricks to making those quivers. If you want to make one yourself I can talk you through most of 'it.
That cross fox was only an inch longer than your pelt. The quiver ended up being perfect for 28" BOP arrows (those are my 31" BOP arrows in the pic). I couldn't get the length and still have enough for putting the face on like Barb's quiver, so I left the front feet on instead (kind of wish I didn't though).
thanks for the offer Jeremy! If I choose that route I'll be in touch for sure.
