Title: short draw question
Post by: Silvertip Marc on April 05, 2009, 07:05:00 PM
Just got home from doing some stump shooting and I had a shot that I would like to know how other people do.  If you have a shot that you have to arc over something, do you anchor in the same spot and not fully extend the bow arm, or do you not come to full draw.  Not to brag, but I made a real nice shot by not coming to full draw.  My best shots seem to be when it is only me and my dog!!

i believe you should always reach full anchor no matter what your shooting at. not coming to full draw can easily build bad habbits.  :archer:    ;)

Fred Bear has a famous story about shooting an animal over an obstacle (a log, I think) by short drawing his bow. If it was good enough for Fred, it should be good enough for us. Generally, I agree that a full draw to your anchor is the best idea.
