Title: HELP WITH MY "Heartstopper"
Post by: elkslayer on April 03, 2009, 07:52:00 PM
Ok I just got me a hearstopper and I need to know a little info on what is recommended for a few things for it. First off what is the recommended brace height for it mine is a 58" 63@28 and secondly is if I am shooting it a few time a week is it cool to leave it strung. Thirdly how many strands does he use when he makes his strings and to what length? THe string on it seems a bit to beefy at the ends and doesn't seem to seat really well. This one just so you know is a take down and it is a nice bow just wanted to make sure I treat it with the respect it deserves. Thanks for the help.

Is it a 2 piece TD or 3 PC?I shot my 60 inch Thunderhorn at 7 inches and my 62 incher at closer to 7.25 inches. Those are nice bows. The 2 piece is very cool.I think 6.75 to 7 is gonna be pretty good on that bow.

I had a 12 or 14 strand dynaflight on my T-horn.

i would say you are okay to keep it strung. The bow i am shooting is kept strung most of the time unless i transport it.Might check with Thunderhorn for thier opinion though. It never hurts and ask about string recommendations.

I do not own a heartstopper, but I would bet the brace height would be around 7"-7.25"

I shoot my bows a few times a week and they stay strung all the time unless I am traveling with them.  They are not takedowns and are mid 50's but my father has 2 takedowns and he leaves them strung as well.

Not sure a bout the string but, it may have padded loops or it may just be a heavy b-50 string

just my thoughts

Why don't you just ask Duane? He made it and will know all the answers to your questions.

He gave me some guide lines with my Coup Stick but I had to do some tuning just like
any bow.

I emailed him some of these same questions earlier this week and he responded right away.  Mine is not a take down but here is what he told me.  BH 6 3/4" to 7 1/4".  Don't leave it strung. Mine was made in 02 so that might have some bearing also on leaving it strung.  I have the same observation as yours regarding string loops, but did not ask him that question.
