I've been shooting for about 2 years now, and I'm really getting into it. I've been looking to buy a new bow for awhile, but I've recently been considering a takedown longbow. Looking for any advice on this. I've got a 31" draw length, so I'm concerned about buying a bow that is too short.
64-70" Border Griffon GL. Two piece sleeve. The GL stands for glassless but it does have carbon. THe carbon is 40% lighter than glass yet more torsionally stiff=more forgiving. Contact Sid@borderbows.com Pete Ward www.peteward.com (http://www.peteward.com) did test/review.
Ron King Fox Archery builds a really nice takedown 2 peice long bow it's a sleeved bow. I really like mine. Frank www.foxarchery.com (http://www.foxarchery.com)
Take a look at the Wapiti Spike. Keith Chastains take-down system won`t break the bank :-)) and works darn good.

Just make it clear to the bowyer you have a 31" draw. If I built ya one...it'd be 66" long.
Good Luck!
I shoot a firefly and I draw 30. It's AMO 63"
i shoot a 66" acs. i have a legitimate 33" draw. no problems.
The RER LX 3 piece longbow works very well with longer draws. For a draw like yours I would recommend a 64" bow.
33" draw WOW !!! How tall might you be ?

I have a Kota three piece I just put in the classifieds. I'm a 29" and it would work for you. Great bow.

Of the 3 piece longbows I have shot , Ben Grahams Hummingbirds and Elmers Crow Creek Blackfeathers are the best. One opinion. Flinthead

You might check out Rick Welch's Dakota longbows. 3 pc . alot of bow for the $. Dakotabows.com. DB
all that's gonna basically matter is the following ...
1. choose a bow length recommended to safely handle yer 31" draw, i.e. - 66" or so
2. pick a t/d style that functionally and aesthetically fits you - two or three piece
3. order in a draw weight that fits your draw length
4. shoot, enjoy :saywhat:
Make sure it is measured at your draw weight so you know exactly what you have also.

I shoot a Hummingbird 3 peice take down it kills everthing I shoot at.
Quinn Stallion or Stallion Classic. Terrific shooters and terrific people to deal with. they will make sure you get the right bow. And the price is right so if you don't like a TD, you're not out of luck and they are easy to resell.
