Title: foot protection for the high country

I ran a thread last year about this time on blister prevention in the high country..But i did not  draw my tag an lost the info, i will draw this year. So lets try it again there was so much good info from you guys i believe it would be helpful for anyone lucky enough to be hunting elk this fall including me. Any advice on foot protection would be helpful thanks

Good boots, tough feet, light liner and decent wool socks, duct tape for the hot spots.  It's all part of getting in shape.  Have fun.  Good luck.

All the above, plus go to a running store and get yourself a tube of Body Glide - it is anti chaffing product. This is the stuff all the athletes use to prevent blisters and hot spots during marathons. It works real good.

Body glide thats the one could not remember... Thanks!! i tried a search but could not go back that far..

I always wear a first sock made of silk then the heavy socks over them. Keeps any friction from starting a hot spot.

Get the best boots you san afford,and BREAK THEM IN!!!!!!!

Break in is the key - it softens the boots but it also toughens your feet to suit the boots.

Of course some boots just wont fit some people right, so its best to find out ahead.
