Title: Stumping with a bow made from a Timo stave
Post by: George Tsoukalas on March 27, 2009, 02:07:00 PM
What a stave was. About as good as it gets for osage. The bow is 61in. ntn and draws 52# at 26 inches. It's a very smooth drawer.
Here's the ow hanging on a tree in the woods were I hunt and stump. Jawge

Here are my favorite woods. I am blessed with a place to play so close to home. The woods are pretty thick in spots.

Lots of deer and turkey sign. Guess where I'll be opening day of spring turkey season.

No long shots here.

But plenty of stumps.

Thank for the stave, Timo. The bow shoots well. All my bows get the stumping test. This one passed. I had a great morning roving the woods. I thank the good Lord for the opportunity.  :)  Jawge

Nice looking bow George, but I gotta say you have a lot less snow there than we do here.....my yard still has a foot in it.

It was, Ron. It's nice to get out. Here, Huntrdf, it's 60 degrees. There's some snow but only where the plows stacked it up. Jawge

George,
Good to see that you like it, those Timo staves are nice.  I have a bow that I used for the last two years that was made from a Timo/Doug stave (Dougs farm until he sold it a couple of years back).

barebow, thanks. Glad you like it.  that's good you can go snowshoeing. Thank you. Roy. I am happy that you like it. Walt, Timo cuts some good stuff for sure. There's no osage here in NH but it's a great wood. Pretty as all get out. It's already beginning its color change. One more coat of spar urethane and I'll put on the handle covering. Thanks. Jawge

Thanks, straitera. Glad you liked the trip. Thanks for joining me. 4runr, yes, I plan on bringing it and shooting at Denton. Lord willing. bentpole, thanks for sharing your time with me too.  :)  Jawge
