Ok guys and gals, I am trying to get some input on who would like to talk about attending a west coast Rod Jenkins shooting class in Oregon. This is just a start. No dates have been set yet. Just trying to hear of any interest. I know there are already some guys that have told me they will attend. Rod has expressed his interest in coming out here and seeing the country and graciously sharing his valuable knowledge with those who are eager to learn. So if you would like to pursue this great opportunity to spend two days with a good man and learn how to improve your shooting let me know. I will keep you up to date on what is transpiring and we can talk dates, etc. as time goes by.
If there was a great traditional archery 3D shoot that you could attend along with this, would you be interested? Just thinking outloud.
Any input or questions? Let's talk about it. I think it would be great fun to spend some time with you folks and benefit from Rod's instruction. Thanks! David
who's rod jenkins? if he can shoot and teach me some things then heck ya ''i'm in
Me too...
Good to hear from you guys! Oh, Rod is just some guy I ran into that shoots a bow and arrow... ;)
If you've seen "Masters of the Barebow vol.3" then just think of having this going on for 2 days!!!...minus some of the bloopers!
Can't have him. He's ours.
Killdeer :archer:
If you really don't know who Rod Jenkins is then you will probably want to go on to the next post! :bigsmyl:
I think New Mexico is warmer and a more centralized location, imho
Now Killie, I know you learned how to share... ;)
Hey BabaLoo, come on up to the "middle coast" land and we'll show you a good time...and you'll learn how to shoot better than you thought you could!
This is one of things that you can put off and see what developes or you can jump in and make it work for all of us. Come on in the water's fine!
without sounding like a total fool i really dont know who he is,never heard of him but thats no reason to tell me to move on there bjorn.maybe i'm willing to learn.maybe you need to realize we cant all be a genious like you apparently are.

Ohh in 2 days, I'll have bloopers :biglaugh:
No problem Elkherder. Rod was the IBO Traditional Hunter Class World Champion. He helped put together the Masters of the Barebow video series. He is one of the finest teachers of archery and one good man. He is gracious enough to offer his knowledge and time in teaching others what he knows works! It is a great opportunity that I look forward to taking him up on! Hope you will join us.
We can't let those east coast archers have all the fun!!!
easy now... i think we are all having fun here.
I'm in if I can swing it when the time comes.
i'm all good..... i was an ibo world championship qualifier back when i shot wheelies but was not inclined to travel to ny to shoot my bow.go figure eh.
like i said i'm in for the win just let me know when and where.
Rod, we'll count on at least a few bloopers! haha
Sounds good guys! Next week I'm going to start working on a place and then let everyone chime in on some dates. Oh boy!
I think central California would be the best place for him :bigsmyl:
I would be in for sure,, It would be crazy of me not to..
just curious of the dates,,location,, and price..
I would be interested if it took place in eastern OR for sure
Well Rod, I hope you've got the Gumbie qualitites cause it sounds like there are a few folks willing to pull on you in all directions.
One scenario that's been bantered around a bit has been to have Rod share his expertise during the three days immediately prior to the next West Coast Trad Gang Hog hunt at the Tejon ranch. The Tejon shoots are usually a Friday afternoon, Saturday and half day Sunday, for a total of 4, half day hunts.
One criticism of the past Tejon hunt was the lack of face time the Trad Gangers got with each other, as the hunting was conducted fairly alone or in small groups. The terrain at Tejon is so rugged that many of us had a few sore muscles after a day afield. Getting together with Rod's clinic would give us 2 1/2 or three days for archery instruction and social interaction, tune everyone's skills and equipment for the hunt. Then, once everyone is all tuned in to their gear and armed with Rod's instruction we can all go out and slaughter the hogs on Tejon.
For those that don't know about Tejon, it is the largest private land holding in California, 225,000 acres give or take. Located in the central coast of California, about 3 hours north of metropolitan Los Angeles. The scenery is outstanding, the way old California was before the white man settled here. Those that perhaps missed the prior posted thread can refresh on this link:
http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=070159;p=1
The decision of where to place a venue to take full advantage of a resource as highly sought after as a Rod Jenkins will probably be hotly contested up and down the coast. Many factors need go into the decision, including proximity to transportation, airports, venue resources, target facilities, etc. It would be my contention that we "left coasters" attempt to parlay the clinic into another complimentary activity. Heck if we've got to drive any distance we might as well make the best of the situation effort and tank-up on the archery fun. Perhaps Ted Frye could do one of his bow building classes, someone with expertise could teach string building, another might offer to teach extreme FoC arrow building.
Also, we've put together the ugliest perpetual trophy we could think up for the annual Trad Gang Tejon hunt. This year's perpetual trophy would have gone to our own Delta, (Jim Belleville) but we hadn't thought up the award until after Jim scored. Our trophy is the southern end of a north bound boar hog, with a big-ole sack proudly hangin' down like mud flaps. The lucky winner of this perpetual trophy will have shot the largest Tejon hog during the tournament and will be required to display this exhibition of swinely glory in their living room for all to admire throughout the remainder of the calendar year. The names of the individual winners are to be memorialized in brass plaques upon the trophy.
My vote certainly would be to merge Rod's clinic with the Tejon ranch hunt. I know I have the support of many California Trad Gangersters that I've already spoken with about this concept. The logistical support is critical in pulling off a successful event like this. I can think of no better way to spend a few days then under the skillful instruction of Rod Jenkins, Then....we go wack some piggies!
:campfire:
i'm totally down for piggie wackin.i'll travel if others from this area want to go pool our way down south.
My main reason for getting Rod out here to Oregon is to have a lot of one on one with him for 2 days. I would feel very blessed to have the benefit of his teaching. The Oregon clinic will be just that. If you guys down south can put together another one, great! But up here it will be focusing on Rod and what he has for us. Sounds like a "West Coast Tour" is firming up!
The other class mentioned lately was limit of 12. I bet the pig hunt could do 12 and the NW could do 12. Like snag said.. a little west coast tour.
I am in .
Snag let me know if you have any problems with a suitable location.
Here, we would have full use of our archery club and facilities. We are about 30 minutes from San Jose airport; and there would be ample students too.
Im in on another site but wanted to chime in here also...
Another vote for central CA and Bjorn's club.
Thanks Bjorn. There are two or three good possibilities that I think the guys will enjoy. I will pass on more info. as it develops next week. Thanks, David
i'll toss in a good place..bend oregon at i believe is called the bend bowmen club.i have connections :readit:
maybe the cali gangers can start a cali thread
We have an excellent home range here in Hood River and we are only an hour out from Portland (if Rod would be flying). There are several folks here in Hood River who would do back flips to spend time with Rod. Absolutely count this Oregon boy in!
SNAG, interested in where you are located?
Sean, I'm in Eugene. Looks like we have at least 10 who want to come, with others in the wings....looks good! Thanks, David
Ok! Considering all factors...I believe we will be holding this at the local archery club range of the "Apple Knockers" in Hood River, Oregon. Being on I-84 it will be easier for the Idaho and Washington boys also. This is up the beautiful Columbia Gorge, only one hour from Portland. It will be easier for Rod to fly in and out of Portland. Ted Fry at Raptor Archery has got the ok to hold it there. Thanks Ted! If I work it out right I might be able to do a selfbow at Ted's shop afterward if he is up for it...? It looks like there will camping available onsite if anyone wants to do that. I am offering a couple of dates to Rod as I type this. When he responses I will post them for input by all who have responded. It looks like a GO!!!! Fun stuff guys! Talk later, David
one can always learn from another...i'm in god willin and my legs dont fall off. :goldtooth:
Sounds good Larry. Looking forward to meeting you!
When I first read about Rod J. doing a shooting class with A&H I thought that was so cool.
Then I started following Snag's threads about bring Rod J. out West, to Oregon, very cool. I always thought I would have to travel to 'bama to visit Rod J. but it may be that I might be able to see him on the West Coast.
Looking forward to the final arrangements and fine print. :saywhat:
Guys I apologize for not being able to be more active in this thread....to say this week has be hectic would be a large understatement ;) But, then again ya'll have done such an excellent job of putting this together, I would have just been in the way!
So what you thinking, a class in Oregon and another in Cali? I'm in either way!
Hi Larry Y :notworthy:
hello sir..... :clapper:
Thanks David for getting this going. ;)
WOW! It's beginning to sound like a Who's Who of Archery.
Rod, so they finally let you out of the office...
Hi Larry, goodo hear from you. Really enjoyed your contribution to the video!
Looks like we know the following:
1)July 18th & 19th 9am to 5pm each day
2)Total cost is $325, $100 deposit is needed to reserve your spot.
3)Classes will be held at the archery range of the local club in Hood River, Oregon
4)Class will be limited to between 12-15 people
Please mail your deposit to me so I can keep a tally. It sounds like Rod is very busy. Just trying to take one more thing off his plate. I will keep a running tally so everyone knows how it is going. PM me for mailing address.
It's coming together guys! I'm excited. Great venue, great teacher, should be great weather!
Hello snag I'm from California but wouldn't mind coming to Oregon so put me down for a seat.
Good to hear it Pshooter1. Looking forward to spending some time with Rod and all you guys! This ought to be goooood.
Dang Rod, you are going to need a body guard! I'll send Juli! :) Hi Larry, good to see you out and about!...O.L.
snag thanks for the welcome onto your thread here, great idea btw!
Hey OL great to see you buddy! Was it that long ago that you were telling me about that new limb design you had? Glad to hear that you and Juli are shooting, and that she is out shooting you ta boot.
I've been chasin elk, dreamin of hunting in far off places and then tryin to make it a reality.
I might be in as well, Where you guys thinking about doing this? And what is the cost? I wouldn't mind doing it if I didn't have to travel. I know if he flew into Portland Or there is a shooting range just over the river and both indoor and out door targets. Chinook Archers. Been a member there and we might be able to do it there.
Snag where ya from in Oregon? I grew up in Gladstone and then moved over the river five years or so ago.
Kevin, look on the 3rd page of this thread..March 27th...there is a listing of dates, location, etc. I will be posting a map at a later time. Thanks, David
Spots are filling up. We've got guys from Wash., Or. and Cal. coming! Now I wish July was here already.
Kevin, I was born and raised and still live in Eugene...too many people...it was a good place to grow up though. Looking to move over the Cascades at some point in the future. I have friends that live in Burns, Prineville, Bend, and Crooked River.
I'm one that's in... really, really looking forward to it. Gonna camp on the range, then, after the class, spend the week camping and stump shooting my way down and across the Cascades to get to Eugene for the Pope & Young.
Our trad. archery club is hosting the P&Y Shoot this year Dick. See ya there. Sounds like you're going to have a fun summer!!!
awwww man...i cant make it ..i just saw the dates and i'll be on vacation with my woman/boss in dizzyland.... :banghead:
You are a good man Elkherder. Putting your family before shooting bows, learning from Rod how to be an awesome shot, camping and enjoying company with other archers,......how am I doing? hahaha ;)
i'm allready a pretty good shooter imo, guess theres no way out of dizzyland though.i got the look from momma when i begged to go so i'm pretty much screwed.lucky to get to buy a bow every month or two so i'll leave it alone.me and ben are gonna be hunting elk in sept over in the burns area, had to cancel the eaglecap trip for this year because of my legs getting worse.i need to be able to get to medical facilities quick if it flares up.sad about that but i've hunted burns area 15 years for a reason.... :readit: ....lol
rub it in....rub it in.... :banghead:
Well Elkherder, we'll take pictures and hopefully have some stories to tell!
Anyone cook with a dutch oven? Just thinking it might be fun to combine efforts one night and have a cookout/bar-b-que.
ok..sounds cool...>---->.....>---->(O)
Looks like you got all the bases covered Snag-good work! The deposit check is in the mail for Adam and me. Don't sell too many, we want personal attention!
It's been a great response Bjorn. There is still one or two more spots left as I recall. Just think...after going through this then the next month is the start of our elk and deer season! Those bucks and bulls better watch out! lol What a great way to fine tune and learn what you need to work on leading up to hunting season! Love it!
Got a few more spots available for this. Contact me for more details or to reserve a spot. Thanks, David
I'm trying to figure out how to bring enough Southern barbeque to feed everyone lunch ! :biglaugh:
Carry on!!! As long as you can get it past security! That could be tough though, they are used to just smelling socks and stuff! :goldtooth: They smell that S. BBQ and they'd be taking a break with YOUR bag!!!
Can I get a menu on the suthun bbq? Are we talking ribs, beef or pork, chicken 1/2's or smaller pieces, chicken livers?
This clinic is sounding better and better.
This will be a great primer leading into our bowhunting season! When crunch time comes with that big ol' bull or buck coming in you will be mentally, as well as, physically prepared! Isn't that part of this Rod...we are guaranteed to arrow a bull or buck after your clinic?!!!! ;)
How did you con Rod in to coming north of the Mason Dixion line? Rod's a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. Lot of knowledge to pass on. Just make sure you send him back to the South when he is finished.
LoneWolf, all I had to say was I would love to have him out west and he said he'd love to! Pretty great how it's come together.
Really looking forward to learning from Rod.
I would love the opportunity,, i sent you a pm snag..
You're in Runamuk. Thanks, David
This is sounding like a great event, so I dropped my deposit in the mail today. :readit:
Thanks David for your efforts in getting this going. :bigsmyl:
Hey Rod, got a big suitcase? It's also been a while since I've had catfish and hushpuppies. :help: :goldtooth:
It's been fun talking with you guys and putting together this get together. We should all thank Rod though for being willing to do this.
I've been to Georgia and had the catfish and hushpuppies! That was some good eating. Bring on the southern bbq'd pork! :notworthy:
Talked to my local BBQ place yesterday about options on tranporting pork BBQ to Oregon ;)
Really looking forward to meeting everyone!
Rod you can ship it on the hoof-we'll put a bandana on it and form a firing squad!? :biglaugh:
You would think of that Bjorn! Being an
Ol' Experienced Piggy Sticker that you are.
I'm sending my deposit out tomorrow. Reading everybody's posts is getting me fired up too, and real bbq all the way from Alabama.... Wow!
I don't know if Rod will get bbq through security in the airport. But I found out there is a large fire pit with wood waiting for us at the range! We'll have to come up with some dutch oven meals and post them so we don't make the same items. I don't remember who said they could make cornbread. But that would go well with some beef stew or chili. We'll work it out! Talk later, David
I forgot. I found out there is $10 per person camping fee the club charges. I am so pleased with the response and I didn't tell you guys about this ahead of time....so I am paying for everyone! "It's on the house"
I received the first deposits today.
1) Bjorn and son Adam
2) Bluebarred-Dave P.
3) Blackhawk
4) Biglegmax
5) Dick W. and son
6) BigCnyn
7) pshooter1
8) runamuk
9) treebeard
Thanks guys. I will keep this list up so Rod and all of us will know what is going on. I appreciate the quick response.
Runamuk, hope you are catching some steelhead! I want a fishing report. :campfire:
Great , it will be nice to see Adam and Bjorn again
Looking forward to meeting all you guys! Should be a great time. Thanks Ted for getting the range lined up. Let me know when and where to send the money for the camping. Thanks, David
I have been out of town for a few days, so I'm a little slow(no comment Mr. Fry) on the reply. Count me in if there is space, heck I'd pay that much for a good BBQ. I sent you a PM for a deposit address, thanks Doug
I just spoke with Rod this morning. He has a surprise for you guys! You'll just have to wait until we get to the range....it is well worth the wait! How's that for a tease?! haha
I'd just like to say publicly how much I appreciate what Rod is doing for archery. He is going out of his way to travel all the way across the country to help a handful of archers learn how to shoot better and from this enjoy archery more. I feel it is our duty and privilege to then pass on what we know to the next generation. So I will be all ears and eyes, a willing student.
He is a very busy guy with his SafariTuff business and other things. But he is making this happen for us. THANKS ROD! Can't wait to shake your hand in person.
Snag, Adam and I won't be camping-so don't pay for us.
Thanks,
Bjorn
I wont be camping either HA!
:wavey: Are there water/electric hookups for travel trailers? How about showers, etc?
:campfire: ..."and a fun time was had by all"...
I managed to get deposits down for myself and my foster son. He's retiring at the end of the month and this will be both his retirement gift and our first "adventure" together after he stops working. We're gonna try and get him a new longbow built before then, too. Lot's of excitement.
Either Uncle Fred or Uncle Louie will be coming, too. They're still fighting about it. They won't be shooting, though... All they do is drink and lie... Might let 'em eat some of that barbecue... though it gives 'em gas somethin' fierce....
Dick & Uncle Fred
(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h186/CaptainDick/unclelouie.jpg)
Uncle Louie
my vote is for fred. Louie looks a little suspicious.
No water or electricity hookups for trailers sorry, for those that want to Motel it I would book your rooms now as that time of year is tough to say the least in Hood River, call me for motel phone #s. Another thought however for those that really just have to have the trailer we can find space( may not be right there) just no hook ups. but hey only a couple nights in a tent come on!
Beer, barBQ and a campfire , by the time Rod gets done with yall and the food as well as a couple adult beverages you will be ready for a sleeping bag
Thanks Blackhawk, I just received your deposit!
How can you leave one of the boys at home Dick, best bring them both along, can you imagine being left at home.

Hmmm....they sound just like some friends of mine :biglaugh:
Seriously .....can't wait til July in Oregon ! Thanks everyone for making this come together.
Runamuk, hope you are catching some steelhead! I want a fishing report.
Howdy Snag, Well it was kind'a slow but i did manage to hook around 20 stelies and boated 14,
caught one that went 36" that was a blast most were 23"to 30"..
It snowed and the wind blew on us quite a bit, but that was ok we were the only boat on the water for that stretch of river on those days..
I just got home late last night, so i will send out my deposit this morning..
Thank you,, and all involved for this great oppertunity...THANKS ROD!!!
Also i can bring my 12x14 wall tent if some folks need a place to stay, It will sleep 3 very comfortably and 4 with no problem..
I am really looking forward to meeting everybody and gettig a chance at learning from one of the best..
Tyler
So that's a slow day on the river?!!! Sounds like too much fun! If you are catching steelhead like that you can keep warm or is it you forget about the cold..? Steelhead on the bbq...oh, yeah! What river did you say you were fishing? haha
We'll talk more as time goes on. Thanks for the response. David
SO I am a little confused now as I asked before if I could bring the motor home and was told yes you can and there would be a space. If I am not right there I wont be able to get back and fourth.
Elkslayer, I was under the impression there was room at the range for a motorhome. I am in the process of clarifying this and I will let you know.
Just received deposits from Biglegmax and Dick W. Thanks guys, David
Yep it was a very good time, We were on the Salmon River below the East fork..
My first time in a drift boat and first time Steelhead fishing in Idaho,, Talk about beginners luck... I guess i was just getting the perfect drift..
I didn't catch em all in one day, I fished the first evening and 3 days of can see to can't see..
I caught 9 on the last day,,A big ol slug of em just moved up the night before..
We did keep one that was hooked kind'a deep and wraped him in foil with some butter and spices then cooked it on the bbq OH MY-MY,, fried taters and some Elk steak in the dutch oven,,OOOOHH GOODNESS SAKES I wish i was back there right now.. Then after that great meal ,,I then proceeded to give the boys a whoopin in cribbage that they won't soon forget..
Yep the stars were lined up just right for ol Tyler on that trip...
Look forward to talking about and planning this trip to Oregon,,I am as excited about this as any trip i have planned this year..Tyler
Oh man, I'm getting hungry! Is it lunch yet?!
No ,there is no room at the range for a motor home or trailer, there is room near there but you will have to walk a bit to get to the range.
You can however park on the street at Raptor Archery and we can figure out how to carpool from there to the range elkslayer.
Parking at the range is limited and very tight getting in and out for big vehicles.
So we are going to save the room we have for the guys with tents and cars, not to mention any one else in the club coming to use the range, this is a small club with a nice little range.
As I said earlier we can make due for any of you that do want to bring a motorhome or trailer , just give me a call and let me know , then we will find a spot for you ,just wont be at the range.
I have updated the list of guys attending on page 6 of this thread. Looking good!
I plan on camping at the range and enjoying the summer sky before turning in. But if you would like to look for lodging here is a website to look at:
www.el.com/to/hoodriver/lodging/ (http://www.el.com/to/hoodriver/lodging/)
WELL NOW WE'VE DONE IT GUYS!!!
We've met the required number of guys to do this...now we HAVE to meet :wavey: learn from Rod  More later guys.....thanks again, this will be fun! oh, and did I tell you there's a surprise from Rod when we get to the range? :biglaugh: David
Can't wait to get to Oregon !
Thanks for all your hard work Snag....ohh yeah be sure to bring your work shoes...we are gonna be working! ;)
Adam and I just watched Masters of the Bare Bow vol 3, and we can't wait either!
Question for Rod,, Is there anything i can be doing to prepare myself to get the most out of your class in Or.??
I am not a very experinced archer i have been at it for a little over 5 years and have shot many thousand's of arrows but i have just hit a point where there is no more improvment,, And i still can't shoot a group or anything that even resembles a group..
runamuk......if you have seen MBB3, you can start working on your shot sequence...otherwise just bring an open mind! You will be able to shoot a group after 2 days, but more importantly make your first shot count.
Guys due to the fact we will be working on your shot sequence and sometimes holding at anchor for longer than normal, and its much easier to feel all the parts of a shot... If you have a light weight bow, please bring it to the clinic...if you don;t have a light draw weight trainer bow...I'll be shipping several to Mr Ted Fry, so we will have a few on hand.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
damn walt disney and his big ideas.... :banghead:
I will order MBB3 today, Thank you..
{You will be able to shoot a group after 2 days, but more importantly make your first shot count.}
Thats an exciting thought..
I just watched Masters #3 last night , great stuff , I highly recommend you pick this up before the class just to give you a heads up on what Rod is doing, not to mention a head start on the lingo , hey Rod , whats an arra? :bigsmyl:
:biglaugh: Everyone has been picking on me and my southern drawl in MBB3, but never mention Denny and Darryl....now they talk funny!
Whats up with that ? :biglaugh:
Maybe I should be there as an interpreter. Being from Oklahoma but having infiltrated Oregon almost undetected maybe I can translate. :readit:
You an interpreter..now that sounds like trouble! :goldtooth:
Just wondering if anybody is going to be out to Hood River a day or so early,, And would be willing to spend a little time helping me to make sure my Bow and Arrows are tuned properly.
Man i am excited about this whole deal, I think about it every day.. a huge Thanks to all involved putting this togeather..
Right now I don't have a "for sure" schedule of arrival for myself. I am thinking of getting there one day in advance to check out the lay of the land. As time gets closer I will post more on this. Why don't you post your setup and we can see how it looks, as far as, the numbers? Or shoot me a pm and I'll be glad to help in anyway I can.
runamuk I will be there for the week prior-and I'm sure we could all get through it together. You can find me at Raptor Archery making shavings with Ted.
Many thanks fellas..
Snag,, I am shooting a Fox Long-bow,It is 62" and is 53# @ 28" , The arrows i shoot the most are GT 35/55 cut at 29" with a 75 grn. insert and a 125 grn. head... I have 3-5" shield cut Fletch..
They enter the target fairly straight, But they seem to porpoise up and down in flight.. I have tinkered with my nocking point and brace height some, but it hasn't changed much for the better..
Bjorn I am thinking i will be there at least 2 days before. I don't think i could be around all them rivers without doing a little fishing..
That would be a rare treat to spend a little time with somebody that has a solid knowledge of trad gear..
In fact being around all the accomplished archers that will be there is kind of mind boggling to me..This is gonna give me the boost i need to get to the next level..
Now ya'll have got me wanting to arrive a week early, do some fishing and learn to make selfbow's :biglaugh:
Don't forget the BBQ!!! :readit:
Along with the BBQ....3Rivers and RER, in support of the clinics, are sending some goodies to every clinic as well! :notworthy: :notworthy:
Wow, I can't believe this is going to happen! Big thanks to David and Rod for bringing this together. David, I know you are also in touch with Ted but if there is anything we can do to prep the range ahead of time please let me know. we will definitely set up a few more 20 yd bales and there is a good location to work on the "blind bale" right at the sight in range as well. Going to be a great time having you all here in Hood River!
Thanks Treebeard! I will keep in contact as things develop. Sounds like the range will work out great for this! Look forward to spending some time there and getting to know everyone.
Well guys, it just keeps getting better and better! Rod informed me that there will be some extras waiting for us.
Seems 3Rivers is providing the use of a couple lightweight Daala's and giveaways for each participant! Thanks 3Rivers!
RER is sending a recurve and a LX along with a gift for each shooter! Thanks RER!
This is very generous and unexpected. Thanks, David
Oh Rod, did I hear something about shooting an apple off your head at 40yds in order to win a bow...? :biglaugh:
I will be there Friday a.m. to help with setup and stuff. I wish I could be there a couple of days earlier, but it looks like Friday.

Oh Rod, did I hear something about shooting an apple off your head at 40yds in order to win a bow...? :biglaugh:
Well, since I'll have to be at gunpoint before anyone takes a shot at an apple on MY head...might as well go ahead and take all the bow's! :biglaugh:
Something told me you wouldn't be up for that....but a good teacher should have faith in his student's abilities...? Not that much faith huh?
Hey guys , Bjorn will be staying on here in Hood River to do a bow building class as well , there is room for two more guys if interested, may as well make it a complete archery week!
Contact me on this if you are interested 541-386-4503
I'm interested Ted. I sent you a pm about this and some questions about the range. Thanks!
I would be more than happy to help out on the range before and after..
Also I will be getting back from a fishing trip in Alaska about a week before i head to Oregon and should have plenty of fresh Halibut and sockeye salmon, if anybody is up for a fish fry..
Oh man! That is quite an offer Runamuk! For me there is nothing better than a sockeye fillet on the grill dripping with garlic butter....alright now I'm hungry!
I have been thinking of buying a lower poundage recurve to use as a "training bow" to work on form. I shoot 55#@28" recurves. Rod, do you think I should go with a 40"er or 45"er? What bows are you guys bringing with you to the clinic?
David...IMHO, its hard to beat 40# when working on form...light enough to get form nailed down, but not so light, that moving back to your hunting weight bows is a chore.
I'd encourage everyone attending the clinic to bring a light draw weight bow, if available....3R's and RER are supplying some loaners and I'll have few as well.
Thanks Rod. I have been looking for an older Bear or Martin X150 or X200 just for practice. Something kind of inexpensive. Not one of "Classic Collectables" on e6@y!
Well, I'll surely qualify on the light bow issue! I'll be bringing two of my OPA "bunged up old man" longbows... Lemonade at 17# and Flapjack at 27#. I don't know from week to week what I'll be able to pull. I'll probably finish another one by then, but I don't know what it will be. Something in between or, if I'm doing well, maybe I'll shoot for 30#. I'm finishing a 40# right now that isn't for me, and it's been a real challenge trying to test and tune it as I go, not being able to shoot it at full draw. Maybe Rod can teach me a "consistent" floating anchor for short drawing heavier bows :^)
Wow guys!! This is gonna' be a class event!
The info for the Shooting Clinic is buried in this thread. Snag would it be possible to post the details of the clinic, time dates, is there still room for more folks? Current list of attendees?
Maybe Rod could give a few trailers on what to expect.
I hope you guys are all doing your "extended draw" repetitions.
You guys are going to have fun!
Hi Larry! Yep, been watching the video and blind bale practicing...looking for a 40# recurve too!
Well guys I had to go back to page 3 of this thread to make sure I got it right.....
Dates: July 18th, Sat. and July 19th, Sun.
Times: 9am to 5pm both days
Location: Apple Knocker's Archery Range in Hood River, Oregon
Ted or Sean or myself will post a map of the range location.
Cost: SURPRISE!!! Rod has offered to do this clinic for $225 a person because of the economy. (Rod, I couldn't wait to tell them! I'm as bad as a kid the night before Christmas.) So, those who have paid in full will be getting a $100 refund! I think Rod deserves a group hug... :clapper: :clapper: Well maybe at least a "At a Boy!" and a thumbsup!
The clinic is all Rod's. So at some point in time maybe he will tell us a schedule of things to be done and discussed.
WOW! An archery stimulus deal! :saywhat:
AWESOME!!!!
Thanks Rod,, That is very cool of ya..
Im just counting the days..
Thanks to Sean we have a map of the range and directions. We will be talking further about getting things set up. If there are any questions you can call Sean or myself at 877-988-5397. It's coming on fast! Can't wait! Davihttps://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=53aa269e-9a86-4f7a-b339-00beabe14af4d
Well that didn't work...?
Let's see if this works better....
Not real clear...? Well here are the directions:
Heading from Portland:
Take I-84 east, take the 3rd exit (the last exit) for Hood River (to Mt. Hood).
If coming from the east:
Take the 1st Hood River exit.
As you take the Hood River exit you will be heading south on Hwy 35 towards Mt. Hood.
Go about 7 miles until the Neal Creek turnoff.
TL on Neal Creek Rd. There will be a pet camp and large metal buildings on the right side of Hwy 35.
Once on Neal Creek Rd. go about .5 mile
TL on Thompsen Rd., stay on Thompsen Rd and cross Neal Creek Bridge.
TR on Swyer Rd. Follow Swyer up the hill until the road turns to dirt. Look for turnoff to the range and the gate on left. Turn and go 1000ft to the site. Look for paper plate signs and orange survey flagging starting at Neal Creek Rd.
If you get turned around or have further questions call Sean at 971-235-2634 or you can call me on my cell 541-968-2832. I will have my cell on the day of arrival!
Any further info. and updates I will post them here. The time is flying by! Really looking forward to getting together and seeing what Rod has in store for us!!!
Thanks for the help Sean!
Hey, Y'all look out! I finished that bow I was working on and it came out at 32#. It's the smoothest (and prettiest) bow I have ever had! I Can't wait for Rod to teach me how to handle that kind of power! :^)
(see: Meet "Out of the Closet"
http://dickwightman.com/archery/bowyering/bowsmade/outofcloset/outofcloset.html
Now that the bow work is done, I've started blind baling and trying to work on my gosh awful form.
Brent and I should be there sometime Friday
Dick, that's a beauty! Love the veneers. I might have to see if I can try it out on the range....
You guys are going to have a blast. I just spent 2 days with Rod and after shooting today i can tell a world of difference. Rod even called me today just to see how everthing was comming along, I thought that was pretty cool. Rod is definitely one of the good guys.
Thanks for the update on your experience Joe! I know we are really looking forward to July. Glad to hear you benefited greatly from that time with Rod. It is a good reminder for us to head into this shooting clinic with an open mind and ears! I will definitely relay what our experience is during the July get-together....how about "Rod's Shooting Rendevous"?
What a party guys!! I wanna' shoot that beauty too!  :campfire: :campfire:
Snag, good directions...thanks.
Yes, good looking bow Dick. :smileystooges: :goldtooth:
If anyone needs to feel free to call here at the store for directions but that map will do you fine , keep my # handy in case you get lost 541-386-4503
Yes, we are a "needy" bunch of archers! That's the first step to improvement...admitting we are in NEED of help.

Most everyone has archery "strengths" and "weaknesses" Trick is to recognize and solidify the strengths and rework the weaknesses.
Can't wait to be in Oregon!
Well guys, it's only about one month away!!! I wanted to talk FOOD, GRUB, SURVIVAL NOURISHMENT! I think some dutch oven cooking would be fun. For those who want to eat at the range where we'll be camping let us know. I could do a pot of chili and some cornbread. There is the option of heading into Hood River for breakfast. I think I'll bring a 2 burner propane camping stove. Those that would like to stay and not have to drive into town we can make some eggs, pancakes, bacon, and coffee. But first we need to know how many will be eating there onsite. I thought for lunches we could take care of ourselves. I'll be bringing stuff to make sandwiches, etc. Also we can bring our own soft drinks, juice, etc. I will bring a cooler filled with iced down bottled water for everyone. Any other ideas let's hear them!
Just a heads up Snag , Lois and I are going to do a sort of open house on Saturday after the class here at Raptor Archery, Bar b style with adult refreshments , dont worry Adam we will have something for you as well.
The back door of the shop will be open for those attending the Jenkins class to enjoy the museum and all the items to look at.
Also if anyone is bringing a trailer/ motor home we have space on the street in front of the store and then we can get you to the range in the morning. So figure Saturday meal covered
If the guys want to take advantage of your hospitality should we give you a tally Ted? If we join you is there anything we can bring to contribute?
A BBQ at Ted's with adult beverages? Shooting bunches of arrows with other TGers? Camping and campfires with same? Learning how to draw(L) like Rod Jenkins?
I was fine until the BBQ came up. That HURTS!!
Killdeer   :knothead: :banghead:
About a month away! Will be a good time down at Ted's on Saturday evening. For the guys camping at the range a few of us locals can bring multi passenger cars to car pool down to Ted's then get ya back up to camp after dinner. The shop is a real experience, a phenomenal collection of archery history and historic long bows. The proprietor is an entertaining character as well:). Thurs night has become the traditional archery get together night at the range. I'll try and get some photos this week of the range and post them.
Eating in camp sounds great, if there are good camp cooks willing to do it. I will, in the interests of community health, offer to donate to a fund to provide the food, and to stay far away from any actual preparation of same. 8^)
Adam and I have been practicing................. the eating part like crazy!!
snag:
I had not been following your thread on Rod Jenkins... Today I read it complete. I see you are doing stuff with light poundage bows and would offer a couple things if I may. I have a Knight "Baron Royal" 1 piece recurve, 58" (my own personal, it's about all I can shoot with a bad shoulder and wrist now day's) 40lbs@28" draw. You and the guy's are welcome to borrow it for the weekend and add to the inventory of things to play with if you wish. The key word here is BORROW, I want it back! I have been told (by Bill Sweetland who borrowed it in his later days) that it will smoke anything of equal poundage.
Also, I don't know what you are shooting for light poundage arrows but am willing to contribute if you, Ted, and/or others involved want to finish up some $urew00d$h@ft$ into finished arrows for the party. We have some, say approx 200 shafts @ 23/64" parallel that are less than 50 lb spine that I am willing to donate and could run through the "wIz@rd$@nder" to put a 10" parabolic taper on them down to 5/16" for the nock. YOU weigh em, YOUmatch em, YOUspine em, YOUfletch em , etc. ahead of time for you and the guy's to shoot and pass around at the party and do with as you will. Save some matched sets of raw shafts for raffle prizes etc, whatever you want, just let the guy's know where they come from.
Sounds like a fun filled weekend and I may even have to show my ugly face if weather cooperates, that is if VFR (visual flight rules ) exsist and somebody(ted/joey/lois?) can/is willing to pick me up and deliver me back to the hood river airport at some point. Busy week end that is.
20 years of dutch oven cooking while guiding Hells Canyon whitewater adventures.....could make a fool of myself here also. Pineapple upside down cake, Black Forest/cherry cake, Cornbread, Buttermilk biscuts, Beer bread, scalloped potatoes, baked potatoes...wow.. I'm getting hungry, gotta go
stump.
Stump! You are too much! What an offer. I'm speechless.....there I got over it. It would be my honor to make some matching arrows out of this holy sticks. A raffle would be a lot of fun. I'll donate some arrows to the cause as well! If your offer on the 40lb. "Baron Royal" stands I will guard it with my life...cause if anything happened to it that's what my payment would be I'm sure! haha I've only done a little dutch oven cooking. Sounds like you are the pro! Ted is having a BBQ at his shop Sat. night. So, to make things easier maybe we should use my truck to shuttle folks there. But I will bring supplies for lunches and breakfast. Thanks again Stump! I'll pm you with my contact info.
This is looking more and more like one heck of a weekend! I will offer up some arrows for a raffle or the "most improved student" award... :biglaugh: We'll think of something!
The Saturday night" Shindig" at Ted's sounds like a blast. Since I'm one of the local "Yokels" I won't be camping, if you decide to pool the lunches I will be happy to contribute what ever is needed. If anyone needs to be shuttled between the range and town, we can make that happen also.
After watching MBB3, I can see it might be a long weekend for this old man........ something about old dogs and new tricks comes to mind.....Good luck ROD!
"old" is the key word above Bigleg.
Rod, if you are out there and read this, any chance of bringing an extra Soma tab we can try out? I would really like to compare it against my Cav before throwing down 60 bucks for one.
I'd like to thank everyone for generosity and hard work :notworthy:
treebeard...I'll bring my Soma for everyone to try out....but heck I can't afford an extra :D
Getting off of the subject of food (which I hate to do), I will be bringing yet another Old Phartt's bow to the class with me. It's an interesting project and I thought perhaps some of you might be interested in getting to know it before you actually meet it.
It will be named "Arrowl Flynn", or possibly just Arrow Flynn, I'm still debating. I'm building it to what I hope will be hunting weight and it will be a circulating bow for the Howard Hill Longbowmen to take turns hunting with. Since it is for them, I'm doing a very thorough (some might say exhaustive) build along on it as I go.
So far, I've shown it starting out as a huge yew plank and some pieces of bamboo flooring and taken the group through the cutting out of billets, resawing into slabs, grinding of lams and cutting shaping of the riser. It should go into the oven this week, probably tomorrow. I'd like to finish it in time to take to the Medical Lake shoot this weekend, but that's probably pushing it. It'll definitely be ready to come to the class and the Pope and Young though.
If you want to meet it early and see it getting born, here's the link:
http://dickwightman.com/archery/bowyering/buildingopabow/buildingopabow.html
I know Arrowl is looking forward to meeting some of you guys, because I wont' be able to shoot him much. He'll be too heavy for me.
A tally would be nice David just so we have an idea, no worries about having everyone as both Doug and Sean have stepped up to help as well.
Stumpy , happy to pick you up at the airport, bring a sleeping bag and you can bunk here and fly out the next day. Send the shafts here and I will put a 10" taper on them and send them to David, I have plenty of arrows to make already. I have had Dougs Black forest cake as well as the pineapple upside down, yum , pretty mean biscuts as well , Just dont let him make the Scrambled screaming egg som btch from hell, you will regret it. :biglaugh:
So guys, we need a tally on who will be:
1) Attending the BBQ at Ted's shop
2) Camping at the range
3) If you are bringing a motorhome...there will be parking in Hood River by Ted's shop. We will shuttle you out to the range from there.
This is important to make sure things are ready for you and that everyone is taken care of properly. I appreciate your help.
My shooting has improved dramatically since i spent some time with Rod 3 weeks ago. The way he showed me how to build my shot from the ground up was just the trick. You really need to have a open mind going in because at first your shooting may feel awkward, at least thats the way it was for me. That being said only after a few practiced sessions everything started comming together and my groups are super tight. Im so excited every time i shoot because im seeing great results. Have fun guys.
That's really encouraging Joe! We can all use improvement. Open minded...some have said I am empty minded...is that the same thing? :goldtooth: I am sooo ready to get there and start on this new venture in my archery experience. This will be something we can start and build on all our lives. What a difference our shooting will take and our experiences in the woods will be because of it. It's a real blessing to he someone like Rod go to this extent to help out! Thanks again Rod.
Also, if you have camp chairs bring them! If you have an extra one please bring it too. That way for those who are flying into Portland we will have a chair for them. Thanks, David
I and I will attend the barbecue and will be camping on the range. I can round up a couple of extra chairs, too.
Sounds good Dick. Thanks, David
Hey Killie, why don't you head out to Oregon. It's beautiful in July!
David,
It's sounding really good. I really appreciate what you, Ted, Rod and all the others are planning.
I'm driving down from WA and look forward to tent camping at the range and Ted's BBQ.
Like others have said, I will be happy to pitch in with money donations or anything else I can do.
I grabbed one of the slots that just opened up. I'll be there for the Saturday BBQ, and will be staying in a motel somewhere. I'll be driving up from Sacramento on Friday. Don't know if anyone else is planning on driving up from anywhere along my route, but if anyone is interested in carpooling, let me know. Looking forward to seeing you all and learning a lot from Rod in the class!
McDave, welcome. Just a warning, you might check into making motel reservations in Hood River asap. The Boardheads (windsurfers) are as thick as magots on a gut shot Texas hog this time of the year!
I will be attending the bbq sat nite, and will be tent camping at the range...what do we need for lunches, ? can we shop there as I am coming from a ways,a nd need all the room in the car, trying not to bring a bunch of coolers?
Two big grocery stores right here in town so food is not an issue , going to be a bit crowded in town and motels due to the fact its summer and Hood River is the place to go for outdoor activities.
Nice and quite out at the range however. The little town of Odell is about 2 miles from the range and there is a small grocery there as well. Great food in Hood River as well as three micro brews and loads of good coffee. Watch those comments on Windsurfer/kiters bigleg or I will start picking on your age and the need for two slots.
Feel free to call the store here for more info or email.
Mcdave, I live in over in Sonoma Co. and was planning on driving up. I'd be interested in talking to you about driving together. I'll send you a pm. I'm planning on camping at the range too and have some dutch ovens and a little experience with them. The BBQ at the shop sounds great for Sat. night. I'm willing to go with whatever program everybody decides to do.
Hey Dwight
I PMed you about carpooling.
Snag I would like to eat at Teds.
This is going to be fun
Kurt
Kurt, will give you a call in the am.
Wow we all got pretty full dance cards guys! This is getting pretty exciting-gonna' be fun to meet all the Internet bros. Quite the California contingent going to HR too.
Hey Kurt, could you please send me another PM with your phone #. I received your pm last night and didn't write down your number thinking I'd look it up this morning and somehow it's no longer in my profile. Thanks
Hello Bjorn, if you don't mind me asking how old is your son? I assume that's who's coming with you. I have a ten year old son who I'm trying to get bit by the archery bug and was thinking about bringing but he doesn't have much patience for long car rides or listening to extended instruction for that matter so I think he's going to pass on this one.
Ha mines 14, and feels the same way.
Better "season" them a bit before they go on one of these trips! Good decision.
Just heard from Doug at Surewood Shafts. They are donating about 100 shafts for our clinic. He's even tapering them!..let's hear for Surewood!!! Now, that means I'll be a fletching maniac for the 2 wks. leading up to the clinic! Got to go order supplies!
pshooter: Adam is 15 and is not happy about long car rides either. I bought an inverter which keeps his computer charged up no matter how far we go. That keeps him in movies and games to make the journey bearable. Once we get there he will be OK, plenty of windsurfing and fishing the week prior to our 2 day session.
He got me into archery about 6 years ago; so this is all his fault!
Kurt, don't know if you read my post about loosing your pm with your phone # but if your still interested in ride sharing let me know with another pm. On second thought I'll send you a pm with my number and you can call me if you want.
My son loves shooting his bow and goes to the local 3d shoot with me and loves that too. We use that method too when driving to Idaho to Grandma's house. I'm more concerned about his attention span while listening to Rod give his demonstration but I would really love him to get some first class instruction especially at his young age and just starting. Oh well, he's has plenty of time to learn the right way.
Snag-I love the surewood shafts-and we are not expecting you to become a fletching fool for us  we have arrows for the low poundage bows that Adam and I plan to use.
I know you'll be busy doing all the other stuff getting ready for the clinic,
maybe we can just get some of that fine shafting?
Well i just got back from Alaska and have enough Red's and Halibut to feed an army,, I would be plenty happy to bring a bunch, Caught cleaned vac sealed & frozen same day they were caught..Just need to know a rough estiment of how many will be there..
I also have a two burner camp chef and dutch ovens i will bring..Also i will bring lots of paper plates cups and plastic forks and spoons, i should have enough for everybody..
I also plan on bringing a cooler full of bottled water and sodas.. i also have 4 or 5 folding chairs and a small table i will bring..
If there is anything else i can bring just let me know..
Thanks Snag and Ted Fry and all the folks getting all this set up,, no doubt it has taken a lot of time and effort.. SEE YA ALL THERE..
Wow! Want an offer Runamuk. You might send a message to Ted. He may want to include some of your catch in his Sat. night BBQ. Helping out with the supplies, chairs and stuff is much appreciated! David
This is just getting better and better.
Dwight and I are carpooling in and camping at the range and will bring extra chairs and supplies.I will bring a case of trash bags for the clean up.
I have a big expedition stove, would it help to bring?
Dave and Ted have done enough (can't thank you guys enough),
Wondering is there any interest in a potluck breakfast at the range?
and who has a really big coffee pot if we do?lol
or should we just carpool to town??
I'm game for which ever way we go.
Kurt
A potluck breakfast sounds like a great idea Kurt!
The "expedition stove" sounds good. I am bringing a 2 burner propane stove. Interesting you asked about a really big coffee pot! I am looking for one..lol I'm thinking of just getting a regular stainless steel pot to boil water and then use a drip filter and insulated pot. I'll bring lots of ground beans! I'll have a couple of 5gal. water containers. I also have a camp table to set up the stoves on. I will bring a wash basin and soap, paper towels. As far as breakfast what do you guys like?
Eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, muffins, pancakes, french toast???
I like the idea of rolling out of bed and enjoying the morning at the range instead of having to drive into town and fight the breakfast crowds...might be quite a few windsurfers.
It took some bribing, it is going to cost me a few days at my brothers' condo on the beach near Newport, but I have a definite commitment from my wife. She thinks there might be enough things for her to see/do locally while the shooting clinic is happening. We will be arriving on Friday and unless s a hotel room becomes available somewhere close we will be staying at the range too. We will bring some extra chairs and if needed two small folding tables. Now I have to get busy and make me a 40# left handed bow before then.
Great that you are coming to join us Walt, good trade on the week at the beach so you can join in.
We will most certainly take you up on the fish Runamuk, We will be starting the fishing season here off about the same time as the clinic but that is mostly Steelhead , Salmon wont be in till the end of August , YUM BBQ Salmon , my favorite.
We will have a few other meats to partake in as well. Maybe this would be a good excuse for a pig hunt Bjorn, as if you needed an excuse right?
Matter of fact , I am going to do my best to get Rod into a steelhead or 2 while he is here.
Man, I am getting hungry...isn't it lunch yet?!
I'm with you Ted...BBQ Salmon is fantastic! Infact, we bbq'd some the night before.
That would be great if Rod could get a steely on!
Glad it is all working out for you and your wife Walt!
Looking forward to it all!!!
Walt, just was handed your deposit by the mailman! Thanks, David
Kurt, just received your check also! Man, your wife made out the check...now there's a supportive wife...got to love that! lol
Thanks, David
Hey snag when is Rod Going to be there.
Middle of July. The clinic is the 18th and 19th.
LOL David, She is a gem,
or is she just glad to see me go,I can't decide?
Walt
I have a 40# LH recurve,if you want to use it.
David
Looks like 7 or 8 camping?
15 or more for the BBQ.
Does that look close to the #'s?
We can start figuring on #'s for breakfast are going to be the same as the BBQ.
I have a couple of coffee pots, but I think thats just a drop for what we need.
Kurt,
Thanks for the offer, but I think the 64" longbow I have in the oven should come close to forty pounds. If not, I have an ugly 35# - 60" recurve I built last year that shoots really nice.
I think you are right on the numbers Kurt. The breakfasts will be different than the BBQ. There will about 6 guys who are staying in town. They will probably grab breakfast there before coming out to the range. We should do a tally! I'll start another thread for that.
Hi Ted i will bring plenty of Sockeye and Halibut. Might need a freezer to keep em in until the BBQ.
No worries James, we have an extra freezer behind the store, room for plenty.
Well received the last deposit today...actually Biglegmax just got it over with and paid it in full!
Runamuck we will have to settle up at the range because you paid $100 too much.
I've got all the financial stuff on a spread sheet. So we can see where we are at and then at the range when you, or if you need to, pay in full we can cross you off.
Looks like we are committed!..or should be committed...something like that.
Wow ...I haven't been able to get online much lately, ...just finished up a clinic in MI and drove to WI for another this weekend....but with the excellent planning being done, looks like all that's needed from me, is to hop on a plane:)
Loooking forward to the trip west!
Boy, as busy as you have been Rod you'll need to come out here just to relax! :D
Well I just was handed about 100 Surewood Shafts!!! They are being donated by Doug Knight and the Surewood crew for our clinic. These are not their premimums. But they will work great for our purpose. I will get busy making them into arrows for us. Doug even tapered all of them for us!!! Thanks Doug and Surewood Shafts! See you at the BBQ.
Of course as good as Rod is going to have us shooting I probably can just put a nock and tip on them they will hit the bullseye everytime! :bigsmyl:
Snag, Your going to love this class. Rod is a good guy and a great teacher Oh! You might as well get use to it. PULL HARDER!!!!!
:knothead: :banghead: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Sounds like we'll be stretching some muscles!
Coming up soon guys, see ya all next weekend.
One guy is so excited he showed up today , a week early , I wont name any names to protect the excited.
Adam and I are leaving Sunday! It'll be an excitin' week.
My staves are ready to go too; see you Tues Ted.
Counting the days now!
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
I'm putting the finish on yet another new bow to bring with me. That'll make five! Think I might be overdoing it.....
I will be bringing some fresh salmon from alaska,, for the BBQ...
I still have about 60 arrows to fletch, end taper and glue points on!!!! I am looking forward to having them done, load the truck, and "head out on the highway...." See y'all soon!
Me too Dick! Except mine is 63#@28"...not exactly a low poundage practice bow. Looking forward to seeing yours!
I think we're going to eat well boys! Salmon form Alaska on the bbq! Yummmm
Heading out in about 5 min.. Gonna wake up somewhere in Oregon,, Then just take my time checking out the Columbia tomorrow..
See ya there..
