Im going stir crazy im back at school without my bow no easy place to shoot around here so i left it at home last week is the most i have shot and well i gues sim hooked cause i wont be able to shoot all week its driven me nuts what do you guys do when you dont get the chance to shoot for a couple days? :archer:
build arras, make strings, OH and type my misery to the 'Gang.. hang in there the weekend is coming...
I am always drawing my "air" bow back and practicing hitting my anchor, and following through, and picking spots on anything and everything! :jumper:
Throwing rocks. Ha Actually it is good eye / hand cordination. Pick out an object and practice judging distances, then pace it off.
Pump some iron to keep your shoulders in shape. I shoot a 70 lb recurve. If I can't shoot, pumping iron helps. Keeps my shoulders strong and able to hold the bow longer with out getting the shakes.
Read about shooting, hunting etc.
Get on Trad Gang!
Im hooked on the book The Traditional Bowhunters Handbook by TJ Conrads!!
acolobowhunter thats a great idea about the rocks! Im goin to try that.
think about shooting !!!
Years ago I had an accident at work which required surgery to my left hand to repair a nerve which had been severed (the surgery was a complete success BTW). I was actively shooting my Black Widow at the time and it was a very rough time, to say the least, for about 5 weeks. So, here's what I did. I bought a Wyandotte back quiver kit and, with the use of only one hand, added some custom features to it and put the thing together. And, I must say, I was very pleased with it after I completed it. Man, did I ever appreciate having two hands again after the bandages came off!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this!

Get you a NERF bow and arrow, they can be shoot anywhere. And if you get the Girlfriend, you can shoot at her, all in fun and games of coarse.
My wife won't let me play with the kids nerf toys anymore, she got tired of getting shot at, so enjoy it while you can.
Maybe I missed it, and somebody else mentioned this, but you said you were back at school. Maybe you spend the time studying so you have the weekend to shoot your bow. I know it is not as much fun but that is why you are there.
I know what you mean, im in college too and I do not get to shoot as much as I like because I live in an apartment. I do have a bowfit and that keeps me entertained when I need a break from studying, picking a spot and holding anchor and such. Keeps your the muschles you use in your draw in shape. The neighbor's newfoundland looks a whole lot like a black bear.....
You fellas should take your bows to school. Check with faculty and find out who else shoots. You'd be surprised how many hunt or shoot trad. I know, I'm one of 'em.
