I was wondering if anybody had done any testing with extereme FOC with aluminum arrows?
Can you find any brass inserts for a 1918 or 2016?
The old rule was 7% to 9% FOC on aluminum arrows.
I can shoot 150grs on a 1918 and they fly ok, but have never used anything more than that.
I would like to know if anybody has tried 200grs or more on a aluminum arrow?
thanks
I shoot 225 grs up front on a 2018. Works great for me.
Jerry, How did you get that much weight, did you use a steel broadhead adapator?
Thanks
You can get 5/16" screw points upto 300 grs. I believe.I have never seen any brass inserts for aluminum arrows. Not worthwhile for someone to make them, too many different sizes. For me I'm not convinced that extreme FOC works well with aluminum or even wood arrows.EFOC can work great with carbon arrows. With aluminum I like 10-14% FOC,but carbon arrows are a whole different game in tuning and allow alot higher FOC,because they recover so much quicker then other arrow materials.
Jry309, I think you might be right about the aluminum arrows, and i know nothing about carbon arrows and to old to learn.
KentuckyTJ(I think that's his username if I remember right) was getting the ball rolling on those brass inserts last I knew.I'm sure he'll keep us posted when they're availible.
Surprised nobody's chimed in with the PDP weight system,or telling you the 3Rivers has brass inserts when actually they're for carbons and not aluminums.Or trying to convert you to carbons.
I can't WAIT for those inserts.
vtmtnman is correct. 3Rivers is working on brass inserts for the Gamegetter II series of aluminum shafts for you guys that are looking at higher FOC's on those. Still working out some details but they should be ready this spring. dino
Thanks for the information, i could use some for 2016 they are lighter in weight than the 1918.
