Anywhere for anything with my son.
Jer Bear
bighorn sheep is mine
To hunt a Grizzly with my bow. I'll do it some day Lord willing and the creek don't rise!
Mike
Africa! Particularly "Black Death" aka the cape buffalo. I grew up reading Rouark, Jack O'Conner and Hemmingway. The dream of the "Dark Continent" is still with me after nearly 50 years. Though not really practicle nor are the days of old Africa still with us, yet I'll never loose the dream....
BIG whitetails in the snow.
diy mountain goat.
Maine Moose, if I ever draw the permit.
Mountian lion would be my dream hunt.Maybe follow the dogs for about two miles in the snow.Well, maybe one mile.[getting older]And getting a big ole tom.And being on the hunt with close friends. :campfire:
I'd love to float one of Alaska's rivers for a couple of weeks hunting moose.
Horner I'm with you on the Maine Moose. I was stationed there in the early 90's saw quite a few while deer hunting. You can't believe how big they are till you get close to one!
Muley Deer is what I have dreamed of hunting. Too old, and out of shape for Dall Sheep.
Moose here in Maine, if I ever draw a tag. Other than that, a moose float trip in Alaska with my buds. We've been talking about this one for years, need to make it happen before we all get too seasoned to do it.
Midwest Whitetails...
A cabin in the mountains for a couple of days and a mountain full of goblers sounding off at daybreak. It would also be nice to have a stream full of trout in the afternoon for some flyfishing.
A good steak for dinner topped off with a little sour mash, and a good cigar, probally a Ashton.
In fact I'm going the first week in May.
Moose anywhere!! :campfire:
Free range Buffalo....er american bison. Only a dream though. Mike
A 30inch muley
Dall Sheep this week. It changes weekly.
There are four animals that I would like to kill....bison, elk, mule deer and pronghorn. Having the time and resources to make it a one hunt deal over a couple of weeks would be ideal. Until then I still need to kill my first turkey and would love to get an arrow into a coyote before he is gone and the arrow passes where his vitals were.
I am with biggie on this on even thought I live in Iowa. Big whitetails with snow on the ground.
doug77
The "far north" for Caribou and Moose.
Grizzly & Elk for me. The grizzly will probably never happen but the Elk will.
Bighorn Sheep do it yourself, with good friends!
You know, I've hunted just about everything I have ever dreamed of. The only things left are Desert Bighorn sheep and Cougar. The sheep is a LONGshot and the cougar will happen, but I don't dream about those things anymore.
I will be taking my son turkey hunting in May, his first "real" hunt. My dream is for that to turn out to be something he will be able to hold onto for his lifetime.
I would like to shoot a black bear but everytime I start saving money a buddy says lets go hunt pigs and off we go.
Elk.....anywhere.
Brown bear number one, moose number two.
DIY tahr & chamois. any sheep species. mt goat. DIY water buffulo (maybe with stone points). DIY sambar. ibex. marco polo ram. elk. anything in alaska. caribou. moose. about it for now, i'll let you know more as i dream of it :goldtooth: i've got a soft spot for fallow too.
Another southpaw for Yukon moose, caribou would be a second choice--1Longbow
Brown Bear/Griz most of my dreams changed when I moved to Colorado
Javalina.
Aside from that, black bear and mountain lion are on my short list.
With a little LUCK i will be doing mine in sept for elk in unit 76, 9yrs in the making the hunt with my dearest friend an cuzin Larry Krumrine an guide Jake Powel. The economy isn`t making it easy an my wife might leave but its a go.. a guy has to do what guy has to do.There are 2 others at the top of my list 1st is Alaskan moose an the other stone sheep. I will probably never be able to afford the stone sheep, but one day i will be in Alaska with or with out a wife.
My ultimate dream hunt:
Africa for kudu & gemsbok.
When I was younger all I could dream about was chasing billy goats, but with my knees being what they are I don't think thats going to happen. Goats have a tendency to live WAY up there.
Brown bear first and then Asiatic water buffalo in Australia.
A DIY Alaskan moose hunt with my dad for a few weeks.
Actually I'd rather do a DIY elk hunt somewhere out west with my dad, pack all our gear WAY out there and then hunt and fish for a couple weeks.
Then maybe the moose hunt.
Brown Bear (Again), Mountain Goat (Again), and any of the sheep. I may have to move to Alaska so I can hunt them every year.
Anything that involves a bush plane, wall tents, good views and good hunting companions.
Grizzly in Alaska...followed closely by a float trip for moose, in Alaska also.
Moose in the Yukon with my two son's, thats my dream...
A hunt with my best hunting buddies or wife is always a dream hunt. The experience, where you hunt, how you made it happen, and the stick you carry make even chasing squirrels a memorible experience.
BROWN BEAR...
Depends on what day of the week it is...
I am with Biggie, I love to hunt whitetails. I don't get many too big around here. I would love to hunt where there is at least several 140-150" deer. Shawn
Cape buffalo, like I will be hunting in June in Zimbabwe.
Allan
Moose in Alaska.
About the only dream hunt left for me is Africa. I am waiting until I am old so I can sit in a blind and be happy about it. Too much to chase while still physically able to do so.
Next "big" trip is either Caribou or Mt. Goat.

all i really want is an alaskan moose. i was up there a couple years ago and snuck within 30 yards of a giant bull moose that was feeding in one of the sloughs on the side of chena hot springs rd. i was armed only with a camera. i would post a pic but it might make some folks too jealous. an alaskan grizz wouldn't be bad either. got within 15 yards of one of those on the russian river in alaska. again armed only with a camera. got some really neet pics though.
eric

those giant Canadian whitetails with my dad alberta manitoba saskatchewan the giants there are like nothing else in the world....one day hopefully
Reading through these post makes me realize just how very fortunate I am to have been all the places I've been and hunted for all the different spieces of animals I have.
Sheep would get my vote for the animal I most dream about. Probably because I just can't get enough of the country they live in and want to experience more of it.
Lately I've been thinking about wild pig hunting down south some place. Maybe Florida, I don't know.
Moose, Mid-West Whitetails also
Gonna go with a pronghorn hunt. Then a Goat hunt. Then feral hogs and javalinas..
Elk also.. but down the line as I gain more experience.
anywhere high up in the mountains with alittle snow. hunting anything with good people. i dont have any mountains here but i love them.
Brocket deer and boar in Argentina.
OR
ANYTHING in Australia...but mostly hogs, dingos, and camels.
Oz is in my 5 year plan, though.
Moose in Alaska with my Dad
Big Adirondack Timber Bucks in the snow, .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someday soon..
In the mountains, seeing the smile on my sons face as he hears his first close elk bugle, while carrying his first elk tag. Might as well put a longbow in my hands while we're at it. It's been a dream of mine for a long time. Maybe sometime soon, as he gets out of college this May.
Mountain Goat, either in B.C or Alaska. Whichever is the most expensive hunt between the two (it's a dream right)
Zebra, Moose, Goat, & Grizzly/Brown Bear. Not likely that any of them will ever happen, but you said "dream".
for me the ultimate would be a big old Cape Buffalo in Zim or Tanzania.
pretty set on Chasing a Mt Goat up here in Colorado too
Any Tag I draw is a dream hunt.
An Alaskan float trip for either moose or caribou, or both.
Or elk hunting anywhere, but that is definitely going to happen within the next few years.
2 week back pack Elk in the Mountains of Colorado with my trusty Check-mate recurve and my wife.

Have a recurring dream about a cold weather elk hunt in Kentucky. I'm stillhunting with every sense on max alert when I finally encounter a massive 6x6 sneaking through the woods halfway up a mountain near a narrow timber trail. I morph through the trees to get within shooting distance (28 yards). The bull halts, testing the cold air and slightly quartering away. Time stands still. A breeze fills my nose with his wild scent as I pick a spot between individual brown hairs just back of the front ham. Subconscious slow motion mechanics send the dark stained wooden shaft with surgical sharp dual blade Zwickey home.
Reality - The dream happens 2-3 times a year (always the same) although I've never shot at an elk in my life. Hope to change that this year. My #1 animal.
I couldn't resist this for my first post. I've had a 40+-year dream of hunting moose with a bow.I'm due to have that dream realized this fall with a hunt with my son in British Columbia.
I'd like to go back to Labrador for one more crack at a white wide racked bou
Red Stag hunt in New Zealand would be the ultimate for me I think. So all you Zealanders reading this if you want to come to the states and try a whitetail buck I'll swap you a hunt.
Since I was a boy, my dream hunt was Elk. Last year two trad friends and I took off for a 12 day hunt in Colorado. We didn't have any luck but the dream has still been achieved. I did have a cow at 20 yards in front of me eating in a swampy grassy low spot in a revine. She had no idea I was in the world. I didn't shoot but now wish I would have. Amazing experience and one I'll never forget.
