My three grandsons' first exposure to archery and bows of any kind today. I bought them a '71 era Little Bear 20#@24" and made some 1/4"x24" cedar arrows. I didn't know what to expect as there experiences are all team sports, fishing, crabbing, golf. They took to it like a duck takes to water and want to shoot again tomorrow. I'm a happy grandpa but I should have spruced up a bit for the photo shoot.

Ah, the power unleashed in the hands of kids. No better bonding agent between men and boys!
Crabbing is a team sport? I love the Maryland crabs as my wife's grandmother has a home on Tangier Island, but a team sport? Maybe I'm just reading this wrong.
What do the uniforms look like? :biglaugh:
Isn't hard to tell what those boys are gonna look like when they grow up....My goodness they look like you bud
Way to go grandpa :clapper:
Way cool.
They will remember that day.
Future Bowhunters of America super cool pic Rd.I love them smiles.bowdoc
Better start buying some camo now, looks like a great bunch of little hunters to me.
Thanks for sharing!
They certainly look happy. I think you have some future hunting partners.
And the beauty was I didn't have to teach them whether to shoot instinctive or gap! They just seemed to get it. One shot split finger and the other two 3 fingers under. The wonder of a child's mind. The biggest hurdle was to keep the arrow from falling off of the rest but that resolved itself by the second day.
Very good! Glad to see it!
YEAH!!!!!!  :clapper:

Motivating, heart warming. I have a young'un getting close to that time when a bow should be a part of the journey.
Thanks for the great pics.

Richard, days spent goofing off with my Grandpa are some of the most vivid and fondest memories of my life. Matter of fact, this thread conjures up a few, so thanks. As others have stated, I guarantee you have just given them of the best memories they will ever have, and they may not even realize it yet.
