Been meaning to post this neat little bow I bought a few years ago. Nothing really spectacular about it other the the carvings the owner did on the riser. Seller was a neighbor of the original owner and was selling it for the Widow of the artist.
It is an old Lefty Red Wing Hunter. Lamont at the Footed Shaft said it dates to the late 50's to early 60's. I probably paid a little more than what it is worth, but I thought it was pretty neat and bid high.

Beautiful work, whether on bow, leather or rifle. I don't blame you for bidding high!

Somebody did an outstanding job. Cool bow.
-
Killdeer is right! I would have done the same.
-
Beautiful work, I'd like to see more of that on bows.
-
Very Cool

Thats a one of a kind for sure. You can tell from the look that the work was done quite a time ago so yea I'd have paid a bit for it myself if I were you. Think of what it would cost to have that done by hand on a new bow, not cheap.
-
Nice, VERY nice.
I could pass some time admiring it. Don't let an animal sneak up on you while your're admiring it on a hunt. :archer:
-
Are you sure it didn't come from the factory like that?
-
That is a dandy! No way you paid too much if you like it and are satisfied. Hap
-
Darkbreen, I don't think that was a factory option;) Anyone have an old Wing archery Catalog I can check.
-
That is just classy all the way. What a nice personal touch. I have neve seen any bow like that. Factory option? Not likely.

awesome!!!!!!!! marco#78

That is gorgeous!

Awsome work I just love seeing this type of talent. This person was a good engraver. It would be hard to ever sell something like this.
You have a wonderful piece of art!!

worth preserving for as long as possible
-
that is one awesome bit of art

I know it's a long shot. I just thought it might be a factory one of a kind which might make it worth far more than you paid for it.
-
Now, that is one COOL bow! Have you shot it? That there bow just spews mucho MOJO hoss!

That man knew what he was doing. Very good carving. Alan

Yep shot it many times. Brace height has to be almost 9.5 inches to get her quiet and get rid of the feeling that the limbs are going to shake loose. Limbs were a little twisted when I firsg received it, but I've gotten them pretty straight now.
I had considered selling it a year ago to raise some funds for another bow purchase, but thankfully talked myself out of it.

Looks pretty neat. I have a couple wing bows but not as fancy as yours.
-
I'm not even left handed and I would have bid high on that great bow whatever the price. And if it shoots like my wing you got a real deal.

Id switch to lefty just to shoot that sucker.Real nice piece of work.
