Anyone else find this. My bow is way noisier with 3 under

Just playing around with it....do you need to move the nocking point above to make it quieter?
Tried it too. Way noisier for me. Maybe if I played around with the nocking point it may have helped, but I was just fooling around.
Some bows are more noisy and some aren't. Depends on the bow and, IMO, on the shooters release.
I shoot 3 under and mine are tillerd for 3 under, Dead quiet.Chris is right every bow is diffrent.
iv found most of the bows iv shot are Louder with 3 under, but i have never shot a bow tiller for 3 under to see if there is a difference there.
3 under always seems louder to me. not real bad though.
I have all my bows set up for split fingers and most are louder when shooting 3 under.
I've never noticed any difference in noise. I've never worried too much about noise; after I put some string silencers on it is good enough. Perhaps I'm deaf (the result of growing-up around noisy farm machinery and rifles). I happily shoot any bow 3-under, and they all seem good to me. I don't suppose anybody has access to a sound-meter to do some tests (on the bows, not on my hearing)?
my shrew is louder, thats the diference between none and a little.
so what .....the deer really dont notice...the increase in noise is right by your ear,you hear it but at ten feet away its not noticeable.
When I first started shooting 3 under, all my bows seemed louder. A year later, as my release has improved dramatically, and I have my bows/arrows better tuned the same bows are just as quiet shooting 3 under, or split. I have noticed some shorter bows, ie. finger pinch, seem to shoot especially louder with 3 under.
Yesterday I was shooting in the yard and I was thinking that the bow was loud. My son who was standing 5 feet away from me commented on how quiet that bow was.
If you use the same anchor point, isn't the nocking point a little higher on the face when 3 under? Maybe the nocking point is a little closer to the ear??? Just a guess.
I've shot 3 under 4 years and the past 2 years switched to split. Not only my bows are quieter but they feel better at the shot.Even bows supposely tillered 4 3 under
I shoot 3 under on my current bow and it is quieter than split,,,ordered my OWL for 3 under,Craig said if you shoot 3 under to tiller for 3 under ,,waiting to see if there is any difference.
Leon Stewart says that 3 under is louder and enough that in his view there's a greater chance of the deer jumping the string. I don't hear it but I wouldn't recommend my hearing as a test for much anyway.
Well I was playing with my shrew it's only 56" long.
Anyway I was just seeing if anyone had the same things happening.
There is so much snow here you can't stump shoot so i have been shooting in my shop and that could contributing to the extra noise, but it is definately louder three under. One of my students stood back while I shot and had his eyes closed and he could tell the difference even though I never told him anything but to listen.

I shoot 3 under for targets. The bows are always noisier then split finger. This applies to wheelie bows too! But 3 under is much more consistant of release! Not necessarly more accurate, just more consistant! mr.c :archer:
Yea its louder for me but I dont have a problem taking game using 3 under . Catwiskers seem to be the most quiet silentcers for me shooting 3 under .
i dont know if this accounts for any thing but if i make a concious effort to make a clean release my shot is quiet. but when i get fatiguedsometimes i end up plucking the string and then my bow is noisy even with string silencers
Mine too, until I went back to split.
I'd love to see some scientific research on this topic. We all have anecdotes.
