Title: Best 2 piece limb bolt quiver?
Post by: BRONZ on March 19, 2009, 10:51:00 PM
What quiver do you all prefer?  I'm looking for a limb bolt mounted two piece.  I want something that is rock solid and quiet.  A couple have a detachable feature that you don't have to break down the entire bow?  Any opinions on these?

I'm looking at the: Thunderhorn with two-tone leather, Great Northern, and Selway.  Leaning toward the Thunderhorn...

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies.  I like the looks of both of these, but I don't think either is still made...

Send your bow to Bill Dunn at Zipper and he'll make you a custom quiver that will blow your mind. He needs the riser to get the limb angles right.

Went with the Great Northern.  I like the 3 over 2 under.  Not a big fan of arrows "flaring" out of the bracket.  I'm like Ozy, the arrows look better parallel with the string when in the quiver.

I might have to go with the Zipper at some point... need a little extra cash.

Thanks for the help gentlemen!

I've got three others but the Kanati is my favorite.

Might take a closer look at the Selway and EFA bolt on quivers.  Both are very solid.  Selway comes in 4, 5 and 6-arrow models.  I believe the Cherokee is standare on the EFA, and that's a 4-arrow model.  The lightest of anything that's out there.

Well my first thought was Great Northern. So I don't think you went wrong. But I do like the pics of that Thunder Horn above, is it still made? I'm like you I just can't get use to having my arrows fanned out gobblers tail in the spring!

I like the way the arrows sit in a Great Northern, real quiet and snug.

The EFA Cherokee is a nice quiet solid quiver but it's not a quick-detach. I never needed to remove it anyways.

I think that the zipper quivers are made by John Dill at Anewakee. I might be wrong, but I think not. DB

I stand corrected. Bill makes the hoods and John puts the attachments on them. Any way you can't go wrong.

I agree about not liking arrows "flaring" out. I bought a bow with an Alpine 5-arrow quiver once. I thought is was a great quiver until I tried to put a fletching cover over the arrows. The quiver ended up collecting dust until I finally sold the bow a few days ago.

So I may have been confusing in my reply! I really really like my Great Northern for all the reasons above! But I really like the looks of the Thunder horn quiver. Is it still made? Any sponsors selling it? I also like the kanati quiver especially if they are making it to fit TD limb bolts. I'm checking it out also.
