I know this has been beat to death. But I tuned up an arrow today that weighs 680 gr. Shooting it at about 56@30.5" . Not but 80 gr. heavier than the ones I been shooting. But they shoot great. Ain't got to shoot no critters with either arrow yet from this bow. What arrow would you choose and why?
I'm shooting a 670 arrow and am quite happy with how it shoots. I think which ever one shoots better for you and your shooting style.
heavy means a harder hit most of the time, but it moves slower...
i'd say go with what you shoot the best.
a well placed shot with a good broad head is better than the biggest arrow in the wrong spot.
They both shoot good. Can't really shoot the difference in 'em at 25yds and in with my shooting style.I know bow is quieter and smoother w/ the big one tho. Course some will say they both big'uns!
If one makes the bow quieter and there is no discernible difference in where they hit at your shooting ranges, I think you answered your own question.
Agreed Vermonster...I just tuned some arrows this past weekend...Easton Axis N-Fused with 300 to 350 grains up front. My total arrow weight is 550-600 grains out of a 49lb @ 28" Black Widow PMA 62". They both shoot great but the heavier heads drop a little quicker at 20 so I went with the lighter head weight. This is the first time I have ever shot that much weight up front...the arrows fly like I have never seen before in 20 years or so of shooting. I can't believe I did not try this sooner.
