When making strings and you're putting the strands on the jig do you make sure they're separated up the nail or do you always wrap them around the same spot on the nail so the overlap?
The first string I made when I got to the bottom pegs I had the strands on top of each other so they went up the peg...I read something stating you should keep them all on the bottom of the peg so they are closer together. This would also apply to the middle peg that determines the overall length.
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Josh
I push the threads down the nail so they are tightly packed together at the bottom of the nail, without bunching them up ontop of each other. I think they twist better if they start straight. If they are matted up before twisting I don't believe the twists will be as tight and effective. jmho
Stagger them up the nail, but keep them close.
