Title: Mea culpa- I did a bad thing
Post by: Kevin L. on March 19, 2009, 09:46:00 AM
Back in the fall, VM13 and others had chosen my two girls as winners in one of their children's giveaways. I posted some pics of the girls with the quiver, armguards, tabs and arrows, but then life got busy, hunting season rolled around, then rodmaking became my focus after hunting season, and to be honest, I failed to follow through. They haven't had a chance to shoot the bow yet, but are waiting not-so-patiently for the rest of the snow to melt up here so we can get out and shoot.

I'll get some pics of them decked out and shooting in the next couple of weeks, but I failed to properly thank these guys for all they do for OUR kids. For this oversight, I am truly sorry and apologize. They do great work and ask for nothing in exchange. And then to fail to acknowledge it, I feel horrible. Thanks for all you do and please accept my sincere apologies.

You know, I did a " give away"  in June of last year. It was my "first" bow that I wanted to pass on to someone that was less fortunate then I was. I had Several people enter, and had picked a winner, with the only stipulation that he/ or she post pictures. He Didn't even have enough respect to do that for me even though he said he would. I had sent another Pm to him  a  month or so ago, and all I was was ignored. I am highly ticked off that someone would not honor a simple little request such as that. I felt like he was just taking avantage of someone who wanted to pass along some "good fortune". I will not mention his name ..I am a better man then that! You know who you are, and if you are reading this, I just want you to know that it was not appreciated at all, and am sick to my stomach that you could not "honor" what you said. That is NOT what Tradgang is all about!

With that being said I applaud you for honoring what you said! My hats off to you, you are a better man, then was my "winner".      :clapper:        :clapper:

You know, come to think of it, I don't know if I ever posted a picture of my wife with her give-away gift bow or not... I know I wrote to thank the fella who gave it to us, and I know she did as well, but I don't know about the pictures...

If I didn't, and I offended the kind sir (you know who you are), I am sincerely sorry.

That being said, I'll just say ditto frassettor. TradGang is my second home and I have nothing but love for y'all!

Just a thought, maybe the reason the individual needed the bow was because he/she could not afford to buy one for themself. With that said, maybe they don't own a camera. Or just maybe they lost their job with this economy and can't afford internet service anymore.
My point is, there are alot of maybees out there and WE(myself included) should not be to quick to judge. I understand your frustration frassetter but I think rastaman hit the nail on the head. Just by your gesture you have shown me that you gave to give, not for any returns.Regards.

Catholic??? Heck, I'm Jewish, truth be told    :D   . Just had a guilty conscience and felt small due to my oversight. Feels good to clear it off my list. Dated a Catholic girl once, though. She was getting back at her parents and I wasn't what they were expecting    :scared:   She used to do the "Mea culpa" thing and it fit this situation.
