Title: carbon expess heritage selection
Post by: canadian on March 17, 2009, 07:09:00 PM
Hi all.  I am currently shooting a 55#@29" recurve ( I draw a full 29") and heritage 250 shafts with 100gr inserts and 150 grain broadheads on a 30" shaft and they shoot really well.  Any way I have a Marriah Termal due to arrive soon that will be 57#@29".  I want to shoot about 185 grains up front.  Will the 250's still be alright or do I need to go to the 350"s.

Are both bows shelves cut to the same depth? Are they center cut, 1/8", etc? I am assuming you want to shoot the 185gr. up front WITH the 100gr. inserts?

My Brack is cut 3/16" past center, I am not sure what the Thermal is cut to.  I meant 285 grains up front, not 185 (sorry), and that is total point weight.  Thanks, Jonathan

I have 150's, 250's and 350's in my arrow bucket.  I think the 250's will be fine for your new set up. I only used the 350's for weighting up for a 77 lb recurve.

I think the 250's will work also. I shoot a 62# recurve and shoot 250's cut 29" and use 100 gr. insert with 150 gr. broadheads.
I tried useing the 350's because of the extra weight and based on reccomendation of a "arrow tech" at Carbon Express who just couldn't believe I was trying for such a heavy arrow! He was wrong: I've tried and tried to get those to fly consistent---they do fly good IF I'm just perfect, but one little thing wrong and they go crazy. The 250's are more forgiving for me and fly better

Yup 250s out of the Marriah should do well cut to 30"s and 250-285 up front. Shawn
