I saw this on my myspace page and thought it was to good to be true, there is a $225 "tress pass fee" which I never even knew such a thing existed, but it includes lodging, meals ect,
I also notice where you get to hunt for free if you work around the ranch for 6 hours which doesnt seem bad at all
what do you guys think?

If I lived an hour or less from this guy I'd check it out. Worst case scenario you're out 6 hours of work. Kind of a long shot with an unknown, but Texas does seem to have some decent folks in it! :smileystooges:
I've been to the place that you are taking about, I had a good time. I took a group of guys from my church and everybody seemed to have a good time. Since it was a free hunt for a church's mens group none of the staff was there except for the caretaker, so I could not tell you about the cooking, or hog cleaning.
I have seen that work for the hunt and I have been thinking about it myself. Even if you work for the place you are still going to spend over $150 for all of the extra fees... Still a good deal.
The hunting is a high fenced place, but that does not mean that it is an easy hunt or anything like that. We saw plenty of hogs to make it fun, the largest taken by my group was a 200+ sow. The only people that I would see is if you are not the only person/group there then there might be a mix of gun hunters and you bow hunting (I am assuming). PM me if you want more details or want to talk to others that went on the hunt.
I met a young girl from Texas at our boat and sport show in February. She was up here working on a new pipeline that is going through this area. Some of you may know the pipeline I'm talking about as it started in Wyoming and is going to NJ or something like that.Anyway I told her I was going to Texas to do some hog hunting. She asked me if I was paying anything (love that sweet southern accent ;-) )I told her no it was a free hunt offered by a really nice guy.
Anyway she told me that if I wanted to hunt hogs basically to just show up and knock on doors as Texas is crazy ran over by hogs. She said that her and her husband and thier friends would go out shoot as many as they could and take 'em over the tracks and leave 'em. According to her the carcasses would all be gone the next day and it helped to feed those less fortunate folks.
Yea, you bet, I'd work for hunting privliges. Fix a little fence, hunt a little hogs.
One thing I am wondering though is lodging is included with that hunt for work offer, I'm very interested, I want my my hog hunt to be one that wont leak me dry month prior to it

That is the only one that I looked at that does not mention lodging. I am sure that the only way to find out is to call them and ask to make sure.
