Title: Hill Bow Shooters & Carbon Arrows
Post by: Scrub_buck on March 17, 2009, 10:47:00 AM
Does anyone shoot the Blackhawk Vapor carbon shafts out of their Hill bows?

I like the larger diameter carbonwoods and their look... I am thinking about shooting the 3-D shoots with them this year.  The floor is open for comments/advice.

Nope, I use wood in my Hill & sometimes aluminum as it pulls out of foam targets better than most wooden arrow finishes. Frank

I have tried Arrow Dynamics and carbon express. I find the AD's do much better for me.

My Wesley Special and my special edition "Wild Boar" both like the AD TradLite shafts. I prefer to hunt with 635 grain cedars, but would not hesitate to use the Trad Lites for big game. Go for it.

I use both GT's and Heritage 150's out of both my HH's. I like the flexibility of increasing the FOC and keeping overall weight between 620 and 700 grains (depending on whether I'm shooting my 50# or 57# model). I like to shoot the same weight arrow out of each bow all the time, though, and I set all my bows up to shoot a heavy arrow about 148 - 150 fps.  That way I have the same trajectory ingrained in my subconscious.
