Just purchased this from a really nice fellow Tradganger. My expectations were very high for this bow. I must say, it is all that and more. For those who have shot Shrews I need say no more. For those who haven't....don't order one, you'll make the wait longer for me when I get the funds for my second. ;)

Thanks, compliments of Steven Catts. He does wonderful work for sure.
Glad you like it! I would have kept that one if it was a little lighter.
Tim, that's a pretty early one, looks like #2, made in December of 1997, 56" 56#@ 26"... :saywhat:
Great memory, Ron. Beautiful craftsmanship.

Glad you found what you were lookin' for Tim! Best Of Luck With Her.
... mike ...
Great memory, and really good records!
It must be gratifying to be producing as many bows as you can these days, and still see your efforts of 12 years ago being enjoyed anew. Must be doing SOMETHING right!
Daryl
Very nice Tim, p.m. me when you want to sell the Cheyenne.
T.J.
Tim,
How do the draw weights compare on the Cheyenne and Shrew? Can you tell anything about the relative performance?
I would assume that the Cheyenne might be a couple fps faster with the same bow poundage and same arrow, but who knows?
What I am wondering is if you would order a Shrew a few pounds heavier if you wanted to match performance with a familiar Cheyenne...
I need to get out and shoot!
Hey Daryl,
The Cheyenne is 50 @ 26 and the Shrew is 56 @ 26. They both shoot 2016's with 210 gr. Silver Flames very well (when I do my part...I am not a seasoned shooter). For me, the Shrew seems to point and shoot where I am looking a little better. Both are quiet and solid. I expected maybe a little hand shock from the light weight Shrew...gladly, not the case. Two very different bows, both masterpieces and excellent examples of these makers' fine craftsmanship. :clapper:
(Sorry, posted twice)
Thanks, Tim
Congrats on two fine bows!
If you compare a Cheyenne with a Lil Favorite so as to compare two recurves, the speeds are very similar. The longbows are not quite as fast unless exotic materials are used, i.e., foam cores and carbon backing.
Allan
Allan,
I know that hypotheticals like this are just a pleasant "game," but I was actually thinking of Classic Hunter style with foam and carbon as I "pondered." I was guessing it might take 3-4# more to give the same familiar arc as the static-tipped Cheyenne. It is just that... a wild guess. I thought there might be enough of the Shrew Crew around to have had some sort of experience with both types.
I imagine you are right, as there seems to be a relatively small variation between a lot of the top performing bows. I was just a-wonderin'...
