Title: Input please
Post by: pointy sticks on March 13, 2009, 11:54:00 AM
Ok so I'm thinking of buying myself a new bow this year.

I have been looking at the

Tomahawk Diamond Series

Dryad Soothsayer.

but am also open to suggestions

anyone own either or and can share your likes and dislikes.

I can remember the "name the bow contest" for the soothsayer from a couple years back and from looking at the web site am liking what I see.

I've never purchased a NEW bow before (for myself) and am more than slightly intimidated by the choices out there.

I just got a Tomahawk SS original series on trade. It is the nicest shooting bow that I have owned so far, it is super quiet and fast. The diamond series has more weight in the riser and a different look. From what I have been told the carbon that is in the limbs does not have much benefit. Just my 2 cents good luck..Henry

Sheldon,

You are comparing apples and oranges.  The SoothSayer is an "all natural" bow and the Tomahawk is a glass bow.  I think a better compare would be the glass version of the SoothSayer, the Oracle.

If you have any questions give us a call.

I would try hard to find what I wanted used. You won't loose near as much money if you find out you don't like it.

Thanks for the input guys here a little more about MY outlook on this.

Way up here in Eastern Canada it difficult to get any of the local shops to import a bow without guaranteeing 100% that your going to buy it and keep it   :readit:  . There are some local guys who build bows but I haven't found anything I like yet, but then again I haven't dug very deep either

I figure if I have to buy a bow from somewhere in the US then I might just as well buy new. If nothing else somebody will have a bow up this way on display so others can see it and such.

Wingnut (Mike) I have kinda looked at your glass bows but for some reason I keep looking at the "all natural bows" don't ask me why.

My current bow is a 4 year old +/- martin vision if that helps any.

Mike I can't get back on your site ..... are you uploading pictures?
