Couldn't help but share pics of my first buck mount. As stated in a previous thread, I hunted him for over 3 years which means no bucks in a one buck county. I think the mount does him more justice than the pic I have of him on the ground. He may not be the biggest but he might the biggest I ever get! He's got that Texas Whitetail look that I love. Hope you guys enjoy.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. The taxidermist does just a few a year otherwise I'd pass out his name because he does an unbelievable job at a very reasonable rate. Good turn around time as well.
Haven't wiped the smile off my face yet ED. I just walk in the room and stare at him!
Congrats! That is a nice buck.
Really nice looking Buck,CONGRATS
Awesome deer, did you post the story somewhere?
Congrats he is a STUD!
Here is the story posted earlier:
I hadn't seen him in daylight (otherwise only on my gamecam) for 2 years. He came in to doe scent right before dark. He hung out in a grove of trees about 7 yards from me looking for her, didn't think he would ever step out. He stepped out, quartering away and my shot was a bit forward of his shoulder. It turns out I hit him in his neck and burried the broadhead so deep the taxidermist had to use a pair of pliers to pull it out. Don't know how he even moved! Bled heavy for about 50 yards then nothing. Trailed him for about 150 yards on a speck here and there and drag marks from his front left leg the next morning (worst night of sleep in my life). I couldn't have been happier when I found him!
The rest of the story is I shot at him as a younger buck 2 years before. My arrow hit a twig in the tree I was in throwing my arrow back and low hitting his back foot. He healed up just fine but I could always tell it was him from that point forward from pics, even if I couldn't see his rack. Must have been fate.
Nice buck and mount! Which part of Texas, South, hill country, or Panhandle way? BLM
West of DFW about an hour and a half

very nice mount, i remember when you posted the story, it's always
great getting mounts back, I'm pumped about one i'm getting back next week that i shot back in 07' (not so quick a turnaround time)
Thanks again guys, Boone send pics when you get him in. Was he as nice as the one you took this last year? If so you must have a heck of a place to hunt!
he was a huge 13 pointer i was chasing all year, scored 180'', the only thing is i shot him with my compound bow, last year was my first year with traditional archery, so i'm not sure if i can post pics here, but i'd love to e-mail you pics if you want
Congrats on a great looking buck!!!
Very nice Deer & Mount. Who is your taxidermist?
I would also add how much i love trad archery, wish i'd made the switch earlier, i'll never hunt with anything else.(except my traditional hawken muzz from time to time)

What a beauty man! The mount looks great! Hunting the same buck for 3 years? I gotta hand it to you. Congratulations! Give us the story on him!
When I was in the Army stationed at the now defunct Ft. Wolters, Tx., I hunted deer around Breckenridge. Is that close to where you got that nice buck? I saw some good deer there many years ago; looks like there are still some nice ones around.
