that a person was about to acquire a brand spankin' new Treadway Black Swamp, that is 48# @ 28"......my draw is 29 1/4". I have a few 1916's that are cut to 30 5/8. I don't think that the 1916's are gonna cut it, but not sure.
I also have some GT 35/55's that are full length (30 1/2"), and I think that these will be light also.
The only ones that I have on hand that I think might be close are a few XX75 Lite 2016's that are also cut to 30 1/2".
I am relatively new to "choosing" the right arrow for a traditional bow, and am wanting to order some carbons for this bow. I am thinking that a GT 55/75 full length should put me in the ball park......knowing that I may have to play with tip weight somewhat.
What do you guys think???

Up for the arrow gurus...
Try the 2016s. Cut 'em to your length, and start at 125 grain heads. You may want to try 145 and 175 grainers to tweak.
I know nothing about carbons.
Killdeer
(if they don't work, it's a great excuse to buy a new bow, hypothetically speaking, of course! :D ;) )
The 35/55 should work for you depending on how heavy a tip you want to use.
Killie......I like the way you hypothetically think. :D
Dave.....I was thinking 125 grain tips. The bow will be 51# at my draw length. Would that be to much for 35/55's??? They are full length at 30.5 inches and have 100 grain inserts in them. Sorry I forgot to mention that above.

Yeah she is good, probably the best hypothetically thinkers we got! lol :clapper: :biglaugh:
i shoot 3555 at 30 1/4" with 300gr upfront out of my 54# recurve. they should work for you
1916s may even work for you, but I'd give the 35/55 first shot. You could always trim them a bit if they show too weak.
Thanks everyone !!!!!!!!
I REALLY like the fact that I may be able to use something that I've already got. You know, with the economy the way it is and everything. Besides, sometime in the April - May timeframe, I'll have a bow arriving from V-Archer. It will be #45 @ 28". Sounds like those 35/55's might work for it also.
So many things I "want".....so little money :knothead:

That is real close to my setup which is 30" with 225 grns up front from my 53 lb Centaur.
