I have a Thunderstick Mag and was wondering if anybody knows how close Jim cuts them to center. Looks to me that its either +1/16 or true center cut. Doesn't really matter, just been playing around with the dynamic spine calculator and was curious about what the actual measurement was.
Thanks,
Austin
Shoot Jim a message and tell us what he say's. I have a T'Stick Mag as well.
Otto,
sent Jim an e-mail, let you know what he says.

Austin,
What are you shooting now? I have a mag as well, I have had pretty good luck with GT's 35/55's. I have dropped down to a 8 strand D-97 string and was amazed how much better the bow performed.
I'm shooting 60-65 Sitka Spruce cut to 29.5 BOP with 160 grain points. Bow is 49@28 drawing to 29" with a 10 strand D97(loops padded to 18 strands)string. I haven't had it too long, arrows aren't quite right, I'm wearing out the outside of the shelf and the flight isn't perfect all the time. Originally thought these arrows were too stiff, and played around some with lighter spines but still not right. According to the Spine Calculator they are a little weak if the bow is cut to center. I tried a couple tapered Chundoo 60-65 cut to 29"BOP with 125 grain points and seem to be real close, just not long enough for broadheads.

AB, just turn your arrow cock feather in and you'll stop bounceing off the shelf.
I tryed that a the quil went right in my hand,I wont be trying that again.
Yeah I've tried that too, wasn't for me. I'm not sure that feather contact is causing the wear there. I've read thru alot of old threads(about excessive shelf wear along the outside edge) and doesn't really seem to be anything real conclusive.
Try this, Draw a line straight up from the deepest part of the grip, cut a small piece of raw hide shoe string about half an inch long and cover it with what you are using for strike plate material. I found on my bow, the strike plate was too far forward for good flight(most likely my release) sometimes just bumping the strike plate out a tad will solve most of your problems. This gives the arrow a little more room to recover from paradox.
I believe Jim makes them + 1/16" of center. Duane
Thanks Duane, that's what I got the first time I measured, then did it a little different the second time and measured it as cut to center.
