Title: What type of points
Post by: recurvedave on March 08, 2009, 03:00:00 PM
I have only used bullet points on my arrows for shooting targets, 3 - D, etc.  Today because I did not have any more of the bullet type and needed two points I found two field points in a drawer and used them instead.  I was just wondering if anyone feels that if they are of the same weight (125), is there any difference.

They will shoot the same, no problem.

Not sure why they're shaped that way, but I personally won't buy bulletpoints anymore. I think they skip off of 3-D targets too easily on uphill shots and hits near the top of a target. I like the Saunders combo point because of its 3-D friendly shape.

The bullet points are just a slicker, more modern look. I never had a problem with them other thn getting them heavier than 125 gr. The "field points" are just more "traditional" is all. They should fly the same. Of course, I ALWAYS spin test all my points before I shoot them. I believe in that.
