I sent out 3 demo bows about a year ago and only had 2 of them ever returned.
I asked for honesty on the program. If anyone can help me find this bow and get it back to ne I would really appreciate it. It is the only bow that that I ever used Honduran rosewood in. It has ash limbs and antler tips. I will look up the serial # and post some pics later today. If I can locate this bow, I may consider sending another demo around. Thanks JD

Ouch, I feel your pain Jim, Hopefully it works out for you. I had one MIA for 6 months and we knew who had it but he said he never received it! After a bit of pressure he said he found it in his coat closet, his wife must have put it there and never told him it showed up!
-
Man, I hope you get it back. I hope it is just an accidental thing, and it all gets fixed ASAP.
-
I have been wondering myself, I'm on the list for the 60".
-
Alright Folks, lets find this bow for Jim! Look in your closets, under the bed and in the garage, lets get it back home! :help: :archer:
-
Jd, I understand your feelings. In over 18 years of making and selling strings, I've had one incident. I did'nt have as much as you have invested but still bothersome. The Traditional Family as a whole, is the greatest. Please, whatever the outcome, don' let a bad apple spoil it for the rest of the great pie!
-
Cmon guys, this was a great program JD offered..
Surely someone knows where this bow is?

I think they need a little more info on which bow it was JD. Like length and poundage. Its out there and someone will know who has it.
-
It was a 60" Mojostik. It was between 45 and 48#@28". It didn't have a serial# on it because it was a demo. Here are a couple of pics of it.

if it was broken or damaged by someone I would just like to know. Crap happens. I would rather get it back in pieces than think that someone wanted a free bow out of the deal. After all, when I started the post I asked that people emailed or pm'd me when they got the bow. That only lasted about 3 months and I never heard another word. I just let it keep going, hoping that is was still getting into some new hands. JD

can the original topic be pulled up and trace it that way?

I was on the list to get this bow so if someone can locate the original thread it never made it to me. The last I heard there was maybe 6 people in front of me and then no one was talking about this anymore. I thought JD stopped it till he told me about this a few months back.
-
The thread is now up top.
-
Checking through the thread, this fellow here seems to be the last to have shipped it out, July last year. Find out who he sent it to.

I sent that name on to Jim, Joe. Figured it was better to have him confirm it before roasting the fellow publicly.

I had a chance to shoot the Lefty last spring. It was one sweat shooting bow. Hope you can locate the bow.

It's pretty sad that things like this have to happen to good people going out of there way to offer an awesome service. Hopefully somebody will come forward with it or at least its where abouts!!
-
MIA for quite awhile now...what a shame.
-
I was able to find a phone number for the guy and forwarded it to JD. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Yuck, looks like the guy in line after Brian G hasn't posted in nearly a year. =\\
If that is indeed who Brian G mailed it to...his info (address + phone number) can be found on zaba search.

Hate to see a great program like this go to waste. It gives people a chance to shoot a bow before buying/ordering one. I know the mods are doing what they can to help JD. Lets get it back folks!!!! Thanks JD for the opportunity.
Hey Brian, put it out there, who did you send it to?
Mike

Back up top!
-
I emailed the person after Brian G. with no response. It does seem that is where the bow ended. Time will tell. I will be putting another 56" Kajika Stik demo out within a month or so. This time I will have some kind of check in to keep track of things. Thanks for all of the help thus far. JD

Your a good man JD. :clapper: I really hope this bow turns up!
-
Good luck JD , you make a great bow :0)

Hey all,
I have been away from the computer for a bit with the flu so I was interested when I found my name being pitched about. JD I sent your bow off to Ilbowhunter1. The address I sent it to was:
James Hammer
18322 Barnridge RD.
Danville,IL 61834
I hope this helps track it down.

Nobody was blaming you brian. Your an upstanding ganger if I have any say.

sickening that someone would get over on a nice fella like JD...especially under the circumstances of a demo.
Guess next round, if you dare, would be best to keep it with active posters or some strict rules...
Zaba search revealed his ph#

I'll second that! :clapper:

I wasn't a part of this demo-around but I did get to shoot miss Hope last year and I really appreciate being a part of a site where people are trusting and honest enough to undertake such a project. Hope this works itself out and thank you JD for your efforts.

Danville, IL is only 10 minutes from me. Maybe i will make a road trip this weekend if it doesn't show up by then.

That address is 10.8 miles from my doorstep. I'll definately be checking this out for JD!

Very sad. It is possible that there is an explanation like maybe he passed away and family have no idea about tradgang and that bow. NOT LIKELY but possible.
Having said that... in this day and age some people just have no shame. This is why everyone is doubtful about it being a mistake, myself included. I hope it turns up and in good shape!

If James hammer doesn't have this bow, I wish he would speak up and defend himself. If he does have it, I wish he would send it back to me. Any defence from hi, good or bad, would be accepted and forgiven. JD

Wow, I hadn't realized that it had been a year since the sign up for this bow. I had even forgotten that I had been in line to give it a try. I can tell you that I was next after Greg Keith and I have not seen it either. By looking at the old thread neither has he. Sorry I missed out on what everyone says would be a sweet shooter. Jim,all I can say is I would appreciate it if you keep me in mind if you ever do another pass around. Hope everything works out for you

I was just in Danville this past weekend, Adeeden let me know if you need back-up.

If the shipping documents can be produced, maybe a call to the D.A. in Abdeen is in order to see what legal recourse there is.

I really hope you find it. Roger Rothharr sent me a demo one time it was a great thing to do and got me into the sport for good.
I can't imagine the mentality of this.

we need that BOW FOUND FOR JD
-
It's a shame. That's why most bowyers refuse to send out "try before you buy bows". Pretty soon if this keeps up the bowyer will have every right to charge your credit card full price for the bow plus shipping both ways. Then when he gets it back safe and sound he'll credit your account less the shipping both ways. Black Widow does this. I had the chance to shoot two of JD's bows. I would never think of trying to keep a bowyers demo bow or bows. Just ain't right. Bowyers gentleman enough to trust you, you should be man enough to mail it back. My 2 cents.

TTT.......Come on we have to find that bow!!! :banghead:

You know everyone is assuming someone stole the bow. And it is a possibility. However, it's more likely that it got lost in shipping from one place to another and that USPS or UPS has it somewhere.
Who was the last person that admits too having it and who did they ship it too. And what is the confirmation number for the shipping?
Mike

Good job Mike. I hope the bow is found for the bow maker, but this was sounding like a lynch mob for a minute. I hope it was an honest mistake.

Let's hope so Two Tracks. But how likely is it that a bow sized package has been lost at USPS since July '08? Slim I'd imagine.
I dunno, all I know is JD deserves better..even if it was just better communication..
Regards
-
I agree Dave, Communication is at fault most of the time. And it does make you sick to think someone MAY have been a little sneaky with getting a new bow, or a bit lazy with keeping up on the demo share program. I hope it all ends well for sure.

It would be nice if your could leave a letter in the mailbox explaining the situation! Maybe someone there can help!

Keeping it at the top for J.D.

Just for the record, the guy that may have the bow, had a bow on order and cancelled it right around the time the demo was getting to his name. Whoever has it, I hope that they are enjoying it. That is what the bow was meant for. I had hoped for it to see more people before it came to an end though. I still plan to get a demo of my new Kajika stik going arounf whether or not I get this one back. If someone doe happen to come across it, please give me a shout. If not, we can let the past stay in the past. There isn't a single person that hasn't made a mistake in their life. All of the help and concern is very appreciated. Thanks- JD
-
I think that if JD is kind enough to send anotehr demo around, maybe the sender should PM JD and the receiver when it was shipped, etc and then the receiver could PM JD and the sender to let them know he got it and then if it is a lost in the mail, the when and where will be known and JD should always know where the bow is. I sure was looking forward to trying it out.
-
Well....I haven't had a reply to the email I sent reguarding the bow.
Not sure what happened either, but the lack of communication sure is sending up smoke signals.
I'll give it another day or two, and then deal with the two registraitions if I don't hear back.
-
JD..you are one of the good guys for sure.
rbbhunt has a good idea about tracking any future demo travels.
-
No word yet......

Yes sir JD is a class act, one the good guys. :goldtooth:

I wanted to shoot one of these bows too and have been wondering what happened to them. The thread was old and dead when I bumped it.
Hope it shows up for you JD.
