Title: bow string question
Post by: horatio1226 on March 07, 2009, 07:52:00 AM
I accidentally cut one strand on a string trying to get some silencers off it. I was trying so hard to be careful.  :knothead:   Is the string garbage now? Thanks

i'd say it depends on what youre shooting. low poundage with a dacron string, probably ok. higher poundage say over 50# or so with a FF string or something like it and i'd say get a new string

I'm going to get a new string anyway, I just didn't know if it was safe to shoot it. All this talk about thin strings.

Brian: Learn to make your own. After a small investment in materials several strings later you will be ahead of the game and you won''t have to wait for someone else to do it for you.

You've got it right.  Change the string.  They're way too inexpensive to risk having one break while shooting.  Even cheaper if you make your own.  It's EASY!
