Title: Best glue for a target?
Post by: blind one on March 07, 2009, 06:34:00 AM
I was given a life size bear target. The only thing wrong is that everytime you hit the target, the head falls off  :(  . What would be the best glue to hold it on?. I'm not going to take it apart so I want it to be permanent. It will stay outside all year so the glue will have to hold up to the heat in the summer and cold in the winter.......Thanks Roy

My opinion is that glue will not hold. The only thing it has to stick to is foam. I would get a couple of hardwood dowels or arrow shafts and stick them thru (may have to drill) the head into the body you could coat them with something like construction glue the kind in the calking tube.

Try exterior construction adhesive.  Apply the adhesive then assemble the target, take apart and reassemble.  Can't imagine it not holding permanently.  The instructions on the tube will have better directions.

Crazy foam sticks well to foam targets. I have done like MCNSC did with dowels on deer targets.
