I am thinking of naming my bow models, and thought I would bounce my ideas off of my friends here. Here is what I have in mind. All comments welcome.
My flagship bow will always be my straight Hill style longbow, since it is what I prefer. I will call it the Cumberland.
My mild R/D will be called the Sapelo.
My hybrid in the research and development stage will be called the Ossabaw.
All these names come from the barrier islands off Georgia's coast, where I have spent some of my best times.
Good choices.
Sound awesome to me...unique and just the right tone for trad bows.
Sound like some good choices...can not wait to see your hybrid model. CS
Fine choices, Marty
Good choices. Cumberland is also the name of a rare paleo-indian arrowhead
You need to send samples of each so I may confirm the name fits.Kip
Marty, would my Reverse handled Hill that is coming from you be a "Dnalrebmuc"??? LOL!!!!
The names sound great!
"THATS GONNA LEAVE A MARK!" :archer: :goldtooth:
!ynnuf oot, nairB
Nice choices Marty!
I've got a new friend helping me design a decal. What do you guys think of this? I know hogs aren't normally predators, but I like 'em.

How about bigger tusks and RED eyes??
You could also add, "Bows that put YOU at the top of the food chain!" or some such in the logo.
I just wanted it as a sillouette, so that I could print some in white and some in black. I think bigger tusks and colored eyes would have looked too cartoonish.
You're close to Jekyl Island...
Jekyll would be an AWESOME name for the radical D/R Bow!!!! I really like that!
nice clean names...and hey..hogs do eat meat so i guess you can consider them a type of predator.cool logo.you're on your way to the top marty.
larry :notworthy:
Real nice logo.
Nice names Marty. Very respectful of the local heritage. Interested in the new bow form. Need a sidekick to my MOAB with a southern flair.
I thought you might call them the Apex Predator series. No matter what, people will spell them wrong on the internet forums.
Marty, can you put pics of the different models you make for us to look at?
Here are some shots of a straight profile longbow.

I may have to save some more pennies and get one of those Mild D/R bows from you. Sure is classy looking! REALLY looking forward to getting mine that mailed out today!!! YEHAW!!
I can hardly wait to see yours finished Brian. You should do a build-a-long.
Marty I really like that Cumberland, but I'm a sucker for those Hill style Bows.
Great names Marty, that logo is Awesome.
Marty,
Cumberland just happens to be my wifes favorite island to visit. Hmmmm... I've got a birthday coming up in three months....need to start dropping hints!!! Maybe she just might want one with that name!
Perhaps we will be ordering 2! Can You e-mail me a price list?
Thanks, Hal
Like the logo. Awesome leather work on the handles.
I plan on it Marty!!! You should post some pics of it on this thread for folks to see some of your PRETTY veneers! Unless you hurry up and beat me, it will be your first 2 piece as well as your first forward handle. LOL!!!
Here is the blank that Brian ordered. It has a wenge riser with an accent of black phenolic. The phenolic looks grey when sanded but will darken to black when finished. It will be really subtle. The limbs are eastern red cedar over a bamboo core. These photos were taken before I profiled the limbs.

Fine bows fellas...Ya`ll gotta get behind me on the list.RC
Excellent names and logo is killer Marty!
Good job Marty - I like em!
You could expand the branding of your company name and call one model Apex and another model Predator. Repeats the name individually and keeps your main name in the forefront too.
Since it is a business, I am assuming that having folks keep your name in mind for recall is important. I really like the foundations for the other models you have named as well.
Best Wishes for your sucess!!!
AP
Hope every thing going well. :clapper: :coffee:
Marty,
Like the ring.... need to send one up to NGA to test out....
Froggy
VERY SLICK LOOKING WEAPONS!!! HOW MUCH  , Pardon me if I missed it on another page. I LIKE 'EM! Good Luck To You As Well!!! :archer: :goldtooth:
great looking bows you got there marty!! i really like the logo but i'm not a hog guy. i think a wolf or other predator would be cool too. just my opinion though, i'm not knockin it. keep up the great work!!

Bill that was bad even for you. LOL!!!
Have you owned one of Marty's bows YET??
Wish they would turn me loose on those Rabbits on that long stretch to Jekyll at high tide. I`ve counted over a hundred.Or maybe those deer that nobody hunts.RC
Robert, next time we get together, remind me to tell you a Jekyll deer story.
