Title: Psychology in Archery
Post by: TexasStick81 on March 05, 2009, 10:58:00 PM
I'm finishing up my doctorate in psychology and have had the opportunity to train and work with sports psychology.  I think I took to it because of my background in archery and an appreciation for the mental side of performance.  The following article addresses many of the techniques we use with athletes as they relate to archery.  Hope this is helpful whether it's shooting in your backyard, 3D shoots, or hunting situations.  Here is the link:

I'm glad you liked it.  I find myself doing this while I'm in the stand just to calm my nerves and be ready.  It always seems like it happens so fast when an animal comes in, it helps me to slow it down by rehersing it in my mind ahead of time.

Thanks good article.  Gives me some more pieces to pass along to my students.
