I will be in the Front Royle and Winchester, VA area and alway like to go to new archery shops to explore and shop. Does anyone know of any traditional archery shops in these areas or archery shops period that carry feathers and etc.
I live 15 mins. from Front Royal and don't know of any true archery shops that deal in trad gear. There is a small shop in Stephen City but no trad stuff. Also Gander Mt. in Winchester but they'll look at you like you're from mars when asking about trad stuff.
I do my shopping at Baltimore (BBTC) and ATAR, and online.
My husband has kin in Stephens City. Never heard any rumors of a trad shop, though.

Thanks for the replies, I guess I will have to be bored all weekend... Thx Jim
If you like guns there is a gun shop in Front Royal. He sells all kinds of old junk so you may see some old archery stuff there. It's south of town on the main drag.
Do you know the name of the gun shop? I am really getting into guns also...
There's bow pro shop in Hancock, Md, about 40 min. north of Winchester that has some traditional bow stuff. Indoor range also. I think that the name is Appalachian Archery. It's up 522N on mainstreet in Hancock. There's a gun shop across the road that is worth going to also.
Good Luck,
Kyle
KILLDEER, IF I MAY ASK, WHERE IN BALTIMORE DO YOU SHOP FOR TRADITIONAL SUPPLIES
Sorry I cant't remember but when you leave Front Royal and go south it's on the left. It's kind of like a pawn shop, gun shop, junk shop all in one.
The Gun Shop is the name of the gun shop in Front Royal. If you go to Handcock, you must go to Hendershots gun shop.Full of highend guns you see only on the computer(Dakota's,Merkel's,and others)
I shop at the Baltimore Bowmen Trad Classic!
Hendershot's is a great gun shop, went there for a Cooper show once, with a bunch of buddies. Yup...high-end guns and a bunch of other stuff. Didn't know about the archery shop there!
There will be an antique arms show in Timonium the weekend after the next one..ooh, that sounds confusing. Try the weekend of the 21st and 22nd. It is a must-see! It takes all day just to cruise the tables, if you don't get into conversations and an in-depth study of everything there.

If you are that close and like antique firearms you should go to David Condon's in Middleburg. Middleburg is a great little town with good food and Condon's is one of the nicest gun shops you will ever visit. He isn't cheap but he has hundreds of antique firearms. I haven't seen any archery items there other than an old indian bow once. He is on the main E-W road (109 East Washington St).
the two shops in Hancock are almost across the street from each other. I live in Cumberland about 40 min away or so. From Winchester your looking at about an hour 1/2 or so.
THANKS KILLDEER.
Thanks I will check the gun shops out... Jim
