Not a contest (by any means), but I was wondering if you guys would share some of your favorite traditional/primitive photography.
I was in Mexico, last spring, and this was in the lobby of the resort. I love it.
Share yours....

:notworthy: :notworthy:
50 years is a mile mark!
My better half and I will hit 19 years of Marriage this year and 22 years since our first date.

I will play. This is from my first walk in the woods with my old Sarrels Sierra longbow. Found this shed near this stump and decided to take a break. The picture really just took itself. I shot my first big game animal (hog) about an hour after this picture was taken...also my first successful spot and stalk. It was a great day. Someone on my home site suggested I change it to B/W and it looks much better.

(http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z318/arrow39/DSCN02231.jpg)Texas first archery season for deer. 1959. That is me on the right and we were all going to Baylor at the time. Bow on the left was Bear and Pearson in the middle. I had painted some GI green fatigues for my camo.
Straitera, I believe its Swineheart (sp?) Not sure where it came from I just copied it and saved it. I thought it was pretty cool.

Well, the picture and composition of it could be better, but this is special to me. It's the only picture I have. My first buck taken with a bow on my birthday in 1972. Taken with a Shakespeare 40# recurve, camo sleeves made from pieces of WWII camoflage parachute that my Dad brought back. My mom and dad gave me the bow for my birthday a few years earlier. Two weeks after this hunt I went to basic training. I still have the bow and will pass it on to one of my grandkids.

I agree with Ken, those pics are awesome!
My army buddy that I was deployed with took the photo. We were chasing a bull elk and he down that draw behind me. We gave up that chase with a quickness! :biglaugh: There would have been no way to get him out of there had we been able to get a shot.

Hey Ken, THANK's a cool Hill pic!!!
I'd like to post one, but I'm to "traditional" for...
My favorite picture of a future trad shooter is our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter Katelyn in the backyard. We had a ball with her the first time she shot this bow.
Great thread and great pics!
This was a great day, the first time the boy and I were both shooting traditional bows!
I went stump shooting the other day and went looking for this!
The buck I killed this year I grunted him in from across a swamp, he stopped here for a minute to make this rub, I watched him make it, I grunted again and he came right to me!
If you look to the left of the tree that the rub is in, the first tree leaning away from my bow limb is the tree I was sitting in. Off the right side, the dark tree leaning in thats just above the beaver balls on my string is where he was standing when I put the arrow thru him! It was pretty awesome to go back there and hang out for a bit!

It was kind of interesting the way we got that bobcat in that we were calling crows with a 45 RPM player and my buddy Weldon had shot a crow with a blunt and it flew off with the arrow. We split up to find it and I had walked about 30 yards and looked up in a oak and he was crouching. I drew and shot and when he hit the ground I shot him again.
My son Josh's (aquarius archer here on tradgang) picture that he had Byron Ferguson sign. I think Josh was 8 in the picture:

I can't BEGIN to thank you guys enough for posting all of these up. I had an inkling when I made the post that I'd get some of these....but admittedly some of these light a fire inside me I don't see extinguishing. It's my purpose in beginning this.
Thank you all SO MUCH for pushing me off the ledge. I've been contemplating the "leap" to all traditional for a while.
Sincerely,
Jeff
Jeff,
need anything in the way of trad gear? i'm allways willing to help others and i have 2 of everything.
Actually I'm "good", adk....but thanks for the generous offer.
I have a Hoyt Dorado that should be here any day, now and I've placed my order for an RER custom that will arrive in August.
Got my new quiver from Safari tuff.....2 strings coming from Chad (LBR); a tab from Bateman and my new arrows from a friend (CX Heritages).
I sold my longbow, thinking I'd have the Hoyt by now.....but my basement project is keeping my idle time busy, for now.
Again....thanks!

Tom... I might rustle up a few pics of the "office" but don't expect a great trophy room.
No mounts to speak of and mostly odds and ends of memorabilia. I took Howard Hill's approach to trophy collecting. I could spend my money on taxidermy or spend it on hunting.... not enough for both.

We love the one of Al's son standing on the horse also....Great pic!
Skyler your a blessed and lucky kid, the best part is you seem to know it and appreciate it. There is nothing better than knowing an appreciating your life and adventures at the time you're making or having them, enjoy your youth. When I was younger playing sports I was lucky enough realize that these were some of the best days of my life and enjoyed them to the fullest. Now years later looking back on them I don't yearn for those days as much as others because I know I got the most out of the time I had. I simply enjoy the memories. All the best in your future adventures Joe
