Oh, maybe you can go bowfishing for a new fish...I mean girl when you get back!

Good luck,

Women will come and go..... Hard to realize at the time but sometimes a breakup is the best thing that can happen.

Traditional bowhunting can and should be a lifestyle that will never leave you.

good luck on the hunt and let us know.

Good luck on the hunt and I wish I was going too.

Kasey

As you look at the pine plot from Ray's camp. The left side toward the road and the far side near the hang on stand are where we had the most action. That's where I spent most of my time.

I hope the water recedes some before you get there. We really got dumped on this past weekend. The weather channel says it was 2.5" but my cooler somehow got 6" of water in it!

Have Ray tell you the Amish joke.

Good luck!

Think of all that extra time you'll have now to go hunting! (More money too)! No aunt's birthday's and ponderous epic films to sit through! Er... probably not helping you out am I?!     :bigsmyl:    But you will have a great time at Ray's and there is nothing like time in the woods hunting to help put things back in perspective!

Things are gonna be ok man.  Just go huntin and have a good time.  I have had a bunch of girlfriends.  The last one was the good one.  We have been married 33 years and I really believe its gonna work.  Got most of the kinks worked out.  And to boot,  after this long and all the kids gone I can pretty much go huntin or fishin whenever I want without catchin any grief.  Hang in there and shoot a good hawg.

If you love it set it free.

If it comes back ...it's yours

If it doesn't....hmmmmm..Hunt it down and kill it.

Well maybe not that drastic. We have all been there even the woman...I know i have daughters too and when they get dumped it's 4 days of sobbing and moping....but they all get over it and you will too.

Just put a positive spin on it...you get to do something else you love and it won't make slugs out of your legs....wink wink

The weather is going to be in the 70's and sunny each day you are here...it would be a shame if you missed out on killin' something cause you aren't focused!!!!

Don't worry about it Kasey. Once Ray begins to sing to you and make up tunes with his Raybonic abilities your heart will be mended. He has been known to cause massive abdominal pain and tears to flow freely as one lies on the floor laughing with histeria at his "Raymolatin" abilites. One day with Ray and all your problems will be over at least for the weekend.

My brother in law said it best when his girlfriend broke up with him many years ago...She asked him how he felt about it...he said "I feel like getting a cheeseburger. Bye".

Stay focused...on the crease up the front leg of that big hoss hog Ray's got for you. Burn a hole in that spot. We'll next be reading about what a great hunt you had at Ray's and how many hogs you killed. Dwell on the recent past and you won't be focused on what's important in the now...killing hogs.

Pork is good........it too will pass.    :D

I'm going through it too. Right before we split up I told her I wanted a bow. She was like "WHY?". We are still cordial and when I get back from the May hog hunt in Weatherford, I'm gonna show her why.    :D

There's about 8 million girls in Ohio with dads who own farms who will support your hunting...and then 8 million in Kentucky, 8 million in Tennessee, 3 million in Alabama but they have some teeth missing in front (just kiddin Alabama folks!) and 8 million in Georgia!

Kasey,
Things aren't as bad as it seems. When I was 21 the love of my life left me 9 days before we were to be married, (more than 300 invited guests). I was devastated! Told the relatives I'd get over it my own way. Spent the next 10 years hunting, fishing, traveling, and womanizing. Best 10 years of my life and wouldn't change it if I had to do it over.
Then one day I met a divorced woman with a 7 year old daughter, and 5 months later I married them.

Things always happen for a reason, let your road lead you to Rays and hunt well; and remember that there will be better days ahead, its all in what you make of it. Keep your options open and enjoy life while you can.

I've been married to that woman going on 25 years now. I told her at the start this will be my one and only marriage, if it fails I'm spending the rest of my years hunting, fishing, traveling, and womanizing.
When I left for my Alabama hunting trip the first of January, she said "if you go this year I'm going to divorce you." My response, " We'll talk about it when I get back."
I killed 2 does and a 6 point, and had a terrific trip. She hasn't mentioned divorce since!   :archer:

You'll get over it. Bein 22, you should have a backup anyway. Go whack a pig, and forget about it. I'd bet everyone here has had thier heart broke once or twice, and I never seen anyone die from it. My first time was when my Red Wing Hunter broke!

I was gettin all serious with this gal a couple years after I got deeevorced. I was takin off to go turkey huntin, and she whined and carried on like you wouldn't believe. She got her walkin papers right then and there. I figured, if she's carryin on like this now, it ain't gonna get any better. Best move I ever made right there, cuz it wasnt long after I met my wife, who is my huntin partner and shoots a longbow dang near better n me. Baits her own hooks too.

As far as that Ohio huntin, hell I'd hook up with a fat ugly girl if she had a good sized ohio farm i could hunt.

So go kill yerself a hog, and forget it.

I never saw so much good advice all in one place before! (Well, except maybe bowtough.   :saywhat: )

When I think of my travels through those Years of Hormonal Insanity, I cringe. I had to get my heart good and broken so that I would be free for someone who would celebrate who I am, and encourage me to be more, rather than fight me for it.

Go hunt, and be the best that you can be. Whatever is in the cards will work out. You can't force it, and yes, while you both are "auditioning" is when it should be purt-near perfect. Once married, the tendency is to slack off and relax, heck, you've caught the train, so you quit running.

I hope you have a terrific hunt, I hear from a respected friend that Ray is a wonderful host, and a Southern gentleman of the finest stripe.

It's the way the cheese is produced and harvested that makes lesser men cringe.

The manly men from PA scoff at such things! We ate heartily and with gusto!

Besides, we all recently had our shots and were good to go.

We're going back in Oct! I'm anxious to see what other local cuisine Ray can whip up for us.
