Just wanted to give a heads-up on THE MAINE INVASION of the South. Ray Hammond's part of the south that is.
Four guys from Maine, Dan, Russ, Jeff, and Bob will be hunting pigs with Ray starting on March 6. I was supposed to be one of them but due to recent rotator cuff surgery Bob is taking my place.
All four are very good with the stick bow so if they can get there, it should make for some good stories. Getting there could be a challange though because as I type this it is snowing at the rate of 2" per hour and we are due to get up to 14 inches of the stuff before it is over.
Good luck guys. We will be waiting for pictures and stories, especially the pictures because the rest of us know all about "descriptive license" to put it in a nice way.
I agree. We need some good hunting stories to get us through the next two months of winter. :biglaugh:
Does this Ray Hammond have a web site. I've been looking for places to hog hunt. Never really heard of his operation unless it is under another name.
Hope this link works.

Good luck on the trip...
Thanks Benny. Now I know what everyone is excited about.
Jeeeze Craig, it was 72 here today. Sigh
Thanks a lot Bob!!!
This coming weekend's forecast-
Sunny 40-50 in the AM and 70-80 in the daytime.
Wow, It would be nice if we could have that weather in the beginning of May.
They should have stopped in Washington DC if they're pig hunting. I keep hearing about all the pork up there right now. Good luck to the Yanks. If they see a bald headed kid playing a banjo tell them to run.
I think we have hit 40 three times since late November, and that is during the day.
Just spoke with Dan. They left Maine this morning at 4:00 am and made it past Hartford, Ct before the rush hour traffic there. That can be a real bad spot around 7 or 8 in the morning. They expect to stop for the night around 3 or 4 hours from Rays place and make it the rest of the way in the morning in time for the afternoon hunt. The weather should be great all weekend, so stay tuned for some good stories and hopefully some good pictures.
