Title: Vermonster13, traditional generosity
Post by: elbow on March 01, 2009, 06:22:00 PM
I am new to this site and relatively new to trad bowhunting, I have toyed with it off and on but last year sold my compound and jumped in feet first. I have been reading, shooting, asking questions but I must say, today I learned more in one hour by stopping by and shooting with Vermonster13 than I have ever. In his backyard he watched my form, tuned my Widow and had me shooting arrows touching at ten yards, then 12, then 15, then almost 20! In addition to this he gave me two handmade quivers for the stepsons, one half dozen arrows, and a bow for the boys. This gent knows how to shoot, knows how to teach and most importantly does everything he can unselfishly to help kids get into archery. My hat is off to you my friend, you epitomize what sportsmen should be, no matter what facet of it they love.

Considerate and engaging. Unfortunately, he has shown me the vice of bow dealing.

Mike you came to the vice all on your own. lol

Craig did very well today. Some back tension and a dynamic release and you'd think he had been shooting trad for years.

The bow came from Mike Phillips and the quivers were made by Larry Surtee. I got to do the fun part of finding some kids to match them up with. I look forward to shooting with them too!

I've learned a lot from Dave on the phone, it must be really great to get to shoot with him.

The man is absolutely a first class human being.

You got to love the trad community.. One site I belong to raised around 10,000 dollars for a guy that was in a real bad way. I'm putting Vermonster on my list of "people I want to meet someday"- Steve

Have they broken the mold on such a high quality man?  For all our sakes let's hope not.

The Vermonster is as good as they get.....

If the mold has been broken science can clone....

Good stuff Dave! What arrows did you end up going with for the widow? if I know Dave they were stiff so you could load up the front. I'll come over to shoot Dave when I have no sick kids.
