Well decided to take my Widow on a walk and pig hunt at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. Weather was very nice. The training area i was in had a fire last year and is comming back nicely.

Ill be back out Sunday morrning, There are a lot of Elk around here in this training area and i will try to get some pics if im lucky.
Your bowstring got cut??
can't shoot with out a string. Nice looking country.
Yup i ran into some good fresh sign and started dressing down, it was getting warm, leaned my bow up against that Oak tree, pull a arrow out of my quiver and pow. If you look close at the top of the pic you can see a chunk of bark gone from the tree, Limb tip made short work of it.
I allways carry a spair string with me but had taken it out for some reason and didnt put it back, that will learn me.
What! no spare string in that pack?
Very nice looking land. Looked like a beautiful day to go for a hike as well.
Mind telling me what kind of arrow quiver you have with you?
Great pictures things are really green there.
Took a bow walk myself today out in Eastern CO to do some Turkey scouting and stump shooting.
Found a Fence Post Deer rub and thought I would share a picture, these are not uncommon the Deer run the same rub lines and rub the post clear thru and then keep working it,this one is down to about two feet tall!

All looks good to me...If I went for a walk I would need snow shoes still and on my horse ...well lets just say he wouldn't be at all happy

Its a Shrew Mantis you can find them at Ron La Clair's Archery Shoppe www.shrewbows.com (http://www.shrewbows.com) he is a sponser here
Thanks.
Just be glad you weren't shooting a wheelie bow. You'd be out of action for a week.
Ain't traditional great!
After i got back to the truck i decided to give the wife a call and see if she wanted to go to lunch, she workes about 40 min from Liggett at the Atascadaro State Mental Hospital, thay have some resident deer and turkey there. They have been unmelested for generations so they are prity tame.
I got there and decided to practice some turkey calling, Its not hard to get these birds to come in they wait for the empolyies to show up in the morrning so they can eat the bugs off the bumpers. Here are some pics they are some good looking birds.

Man you wouldn't need a string on your bow for that, just clobber one over the head, go home and eat good!!!
Great pics.
Thanks for sharing!
:clapper:
Thanks for the pics
You look like you could just lead those right into the freezer.
