Well some time ago I promised a gentelman named Keith I would do a build . I had forgotten about it and have been reminded ( sorry for the delay Keith) so here we go.
I started off with a raptor/ pope and young same thing for the chopper (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper001.jpg)
First I remove the top two blades. discard the short blade on the right . (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper002.jpg)
Then bend the right side end of the long blade to 90 degrees (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper003.jpg)
After that is done install back on chopper head.
Next I open the notch on the guide plate up for the now 90 deg.bent end of the blade and drill a new hole about half way across the guide. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper004.jpg)
Then I use either a round file or drill bit and make the adjustment holes longer on both ends (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper005.jpg)
I also cut off the extra guide as needed to get the proper length fit . A little adjustment and time to try a cut . (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/drewsbow/chopper007.jpg)
This feather is 3 1/4 inches long and the chopper can be shortened down to two inches and a little longer than it is now. Drew
Looks good Drew! What would you charge me to convert one?....O.L.
O.L. I'll send ya a pm :0) Drew

Drew, Thanks for posting!
I tried to get one on the St. Judes Auction this past year that Drew put up. I was hot for the A&A Feather chopper. But folks got outa my range with bidding, near the end & he offered to do one for me and we struck a deal. Let's just say, St. Jude got another check in his name! :)
He's a pretty dangerously generous guy! (say that 3 times fast backerts!) :wavey:
They work excellent. Being that band steel blade has "memory" I have to occassionally "re-adjust" the bend in the cutter blade to get a more 90* back end cut angle, but that is the only tiny issue in using it!
I was visiting with Keith this week, Drew, and he took pics of the one you made me...
Very creative and very slick set up!
Yu da man!
Thanks for the compliments
