Hi Gang,
For those of you who did not get to see this fabulous carbon fiber longbow that TradGang Associate Sponsor "Cupcake" built, I thought I would repost the pictures for you..
I received this bow on tuesday and have been doing some shooting with it over the last few days, I can honestly say that:
1. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a gorgeous Bow, a real pleasure to hold.
2. Kevin is a fine craftsman and this bow is a testement to that.
3. For a 38# bow it is very fast with 1916 arrows. It shoots more like a 45# bow.
I am taking this bow with me to my friday night Trad League to let some of the other members shoot it and get their opinions. I will post again after that. I wanted to thank Kevin for building such a great bow. If you have not had the pleasure of dealing with him in the past I can tell you that he is a real gentleman and he builds an awesome bow. Thanks again Kevin.
Bo
I saw that over there in the other section and that is one fine looking bow. Huh 35 shoots like 45lbs that gets the wheels turning on a bigger youth bow.
Shawn
Great looking bow.
Ya thats a beaut for sure, I really like the riser section.
Nice lines in that one.
Cupcake is a remarkable craftsman-a truly great spine-o-meter; and now a very serious contender in the carbon fiber bow arena. Congrats!!
Kevin is a good friend of mind, (close even). Won't be be long till he's swamped with orders. I'm glad I got mine in. Kevin is a true Craftsman..... Outstanding bow, Congrats

|Do any of you guys have his website address or contact?
I remember reading that thread at the time and thought it was a bow with lines that I really liked. Does he post to Australia?? What is his prices and waiting time??
Sutto
Sweet!!!!!!!!! :bigsmyl:
It's B U T FULL!
Yup Kevin is a good guy to talk with. I emailed back and forth with him about making one just like that for my wife when she is ready.
Hopefully he wont be too backed up with orders come summer time!
every time I see a pic of that bow I get to lustin'
Hi Gang,
I just got back from my Trad Archery League and, as promised, I let some of the people there shoot this bow and comment on it. Everyone loved the look of this bow, from the beautiful wood in the riser to the black carbon limbs on to the beautiful tips. Some that handled it really liked the grip as it fit their hand very well. Those that shot it were impressed with the smoothness on the draw to the arrow speed generated. All in all everyone was favorably impressed with this bow.
Now, I wish I could say that I shot my best scores ever tonight but such was not the case. Of course I am switching from shooting a Herters 62 Magnum takedown, 40#@28 to this and there is a BIG difference. I think the riser alone on the 62 Magnum weighs twice what this whole bow weighs. Really need to concentrate more on my form and NOT listen when someone else misses a shot and says "dropped my bow arm on that one"
(Subliminal reaction) I drop my bow arm on the nextshot (Thanks Rick :bigsmyl: ) Bottom line, I am one happy camper. Thanks again Kevin, ya done good :notworthy: :goldtooth:
Congrats Bo. Looks like you're the first official Gerlock bow customer. Kevin is working on a bunch for us here in San Diego right now. I think it is a mixture of one and three piece bows. Stay "tuned" for more pics!
Sutto, just drop him a PM here on Tradgang. He'll get back to ya.
