I like the skeletonized design. Does it require more effort to put them back in because you can't simply drop them "back there"?
I saw a similar design on the net, thought it was cool. One Osage slat I had layin around and a $6 bag of leather scraps from the hobby lobby. Turn out a little better than expected since my leather working tools were all improvised.
