All you guys and gals who buy your Duco glue at WalMart need to get over there ASAP. :scared:
Rick- If you can't find it in department stores check your local ACE hardwares. They stock it in my area.
There's a couple different "Dollar Stores" in my area that carry it.
But it's more than a dollar though! LOL!
hnh
I suppose the Duco manufacturer wasn't willing to sell it to Walmart for less than it cost to make it. :saywhat:
or maybe its not made in China...
maybe its got lead in it duhhh...
Shawn....
Autozone carries it as well.
Cabelas has a lot more Chinese made sporting goods items than Walmart Dave. Check it out.
My dollar store has it and it is $1 a tube or bottle! Shawn
Now that's a real dollar store there 8^).
They probably quit carrying it because it is the kind of glue people with little grey matter and a desire to have less might buy it to huff and get high.
I don't know Eric, I sniff a lot of glue fletching arrows and never get high...or wait a minute... how do you know if your high????? Awwwww I have to get back to fletching arrows, must be withdrawl!! LOL Twinkies anyone!!
Our walmart is remodeling. They have had about everything on clearance but the Duco..

 You got that right! I'll pay the extra $$ before I set foot in that place!
Rick, are you fletching up some new cedar arrows for my Miller string follow bow that I just found out will be here in 2 weeks? See you Saturday at the banquet. Flint
George.. I know I returned a rainsuit to cabelas because it was China product and asked if they had any that were USA made and the answer was no.. I have pretty much quit buyin from Cabelas due to this and wont go in a WalMart either... sorry off topic some..
This is where tradition comes in...the mom and pop hardware store has MOST everything I need for a project, in bulk I go to Menard's (started as mom/pop).
DUCO is available for them to order and most small shops are more than willing to help you out; for your business and word of mouth advertising.
My hardware store of choice is even looking into getting some ramin dowels into the store, cause I ask...
Now is the time to DO things, changing from
'big box' to small town is where we get the things we need, done right.
Wow, I thought my local wal-( chinese)-mart was the only one that quit handling Duco. Thank goodness Lowe's carries it.
Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll check them out. I know my Menards doesn't have Duco and last time I checked the Lowe's here didn't either. I'll find it someplace. I agree on the Chinese and small box sentiments. That's the main reason I'll be sticking to TrueFlight feathers for my arrows.
I'll take a "Twinkie"!!!  :knothead: :bigsmyl:
You better give up your compturs and most everything else it's all made over seas. :knothead: :help: :p
I get my Duco at True Value Hardware. They even have it in a twist cap bottle instead of the tube if you want it that way.
The Wallmart I go to got rid of their hobby dept and told me they quit selling Duco, I found it in hardware with the rest of the glues..PR
Will Duco stick to Poly coated shafts and Tru-oil gunstock finish?
I also did buy duco at wallmart but they don't sell it here as well...
Cody
Dixie, Duco works great with both oil and water base polyurethanes. I haven't tried Tru-oil, but have heard it works with that as well.
If it's in your local Wal Mart, you need to buy more or the computer will say unh uh and won't reorder it. If there are 2-3 tubes when I go snooping, I'll buy them so they'll be reordered. $1-$2 or so at Wal Mart but way more $ at hardware stores. Better glue @ lumberyard? ;)
Big rack at our Walmart last week. 50 cents/tube. Shame I don't use it.
Does Duco have a shelf life?
Local Walmarts here also stopped stocking it :( . It is the only glue I have used for years for fletching wood & cane arrows. They are carrying another brand but I haven't tried it on any arrows yet?
Just bought the last 8 tubes.
Duco works with Tru Oil but Wal Mart as stopped selling Tru oil around here also.
Thanks for the info. I guess they don't make it in china either. It can't be a hazard problem since they have no EPA over their. I know why no one stocks it anymore! Nothing is worth fixing or glueing back together. Just throw it away with the rest of the junk that comes from out side of the USA. Maybe will start making it in old mexico. Sorry about that rant, I had a rough day..I need to shoot more arrows.
