Hi all,
Well I finally got around to finishing these footed shafts that Ted over at Raptor Archery sent me some time back.
Ted footed the shafts for me and I put the twist in the foots and crested and finished 'em off. I do foot my own now but I just had to have a starting point to begin with.
I made these for a close mate of mine who is without a doubt the best bowyer in Oz. I hope he likes 'em, and I hope they shoot as good as they look!

Absolutely beautiful Al! Your mate is going to love those.
I've seen twisted footing before but have never been able to figure out how that is done. Is it a secret, or can you share the technique?
Al, You are a true artist with arrows :notworthy: Incredible bro!
Very nice Al. I always have a soft spot for beautiful arrows.

Al, did you buy that acreage in Queensland you were looking at?
Those are some mighty fine lookin arrows mate!
Mind numbing beauty! :notworthy:
Are they bocote?????
A true work of art. I know if I had those I'd spend a long time looking for one before I ever lost one in the woods.
Those look amazing!
Excellent job :notworthy: :notworthy:
I sure hope the twisting part is not an old family secret, cuz we need a build-a-long or should I say a twist-a-long.
Those are spectacular you are the MASTER.
Absolutely beautiful!!
From the spliced feathers to the twisted footings outstanding work.
Awesome Al!!
Those are some sweet arrows brother   :archer:
Cheers lads for the kind words. As the rain was non stop whilst I was back home I did not get to finish these arrows as I had planned to.
I was looking at splicen all three fletchers with a thin black splice between the white and red barred. But as I said, due to the heavy moisture in the air it made for poor arrow building.
Currently I'm back out at work but I have a "foot-a-long" 1/2 done and I'll show all just how I do the twist, It's nothing special really.
Again, thanks.

Al, your work shines out in many fields!
Beautifully executed, and I heartily approve your packaging for the post!

Great look loads of talent in those shafts. :clapper:
Nothing like doing the twist;) Beautiful arrows, been wanting to try my hand at making twisted footed arrows since I first saw them in TJ Conrads first book. Looking forward to the twist-along.
Those are incredible! Looking forward to the twist-along.
It amazes me how much talent is here, my "bucket list" of things traditional keeps getting longer.
all I can say is wow !
I've never seen the ACE Classic points in golden color. Where did you get them?
Great arrows, by the way!
Very nice arrows mate! ;) Well done! :D
I thought I understood foot'ing but I must not because this makes no sense to me "Ted footed the shafts for me and I put the twist in the foots". Seems like it would be one in the same to me. Jest, shows I don't know nutting...
Thanks for sharing and those arrows are amazing.
Cannot wait for the foot-a-long to learn more.
Still waiting on how to twist... :campfire:
AWESOME ARROWS! :notworthy:

Daggone those are sweet!!!!
I'll take a dozen!!
very nice Al
