Could any one recommend a good close campground to the Compton event. How fast does theres fill up?
Not sure of campgrounds near, but we camped right on the grounds at the event. They had johns, showers ect. nothing facny but ok. Lots of folks had tents and other campers, it was good.
They have a lot of space there. I'd see if you can reserve a spot.

The camping at Compton is primitive but like was said before they have showers and johns there for use. The camping is on a first come basis but there is lots of room and I have never had a problem finding a spot.
Thanks, I was hoping I could reserve a spot. I thought it might be first come first serve. Hard to say when I can cut loose from work and head out. Gotta go, don't want to miss it this year.

Here is a link of some campgrounds in the area. I cant say if they are good or not but it will at least get you started if you want to go that way. Comptons is a great shoot and one that I never miss!!
There were some open spaces throughout the weekend last year. Usually possible to find a place to squeeze in somewhere.
Wapitimike1, we stayed at Warren Dunes State Park last year. Nice campground and only about 15-20 miles from the sportsman's club where the event is held. We've already made reservations for this year and looking forward to another enjoyable event. Hope to see you folks there.
