The reason I'm asking is because my better half and I both shoot my Martin Hunter. I have a 30.5" draw and she has a 27" draw. If I get it quiet for me it doesnt seem the same for her or vice versa.....Thanks Roy
Brace height is an individual thing. Each archer will have a "best" spot for their draw length, release, hold, etc. There are many variables involved. And it's "quiet"....not quite. :saywhat:
Thanks George. I'm going to get another string so I can have mine set up for me(nock & brace)... Cant believe I spelled it wrong...I only use one finger when typing and still got it wrong :knothead:

As I understand it, the brace height does a couple of thing. First, it can quiet (or quite, your preference) the bow down by reducing the amount of string hitting the limbs on release. Second, it can take advantage of the archer's paradox by fine tuning the point where the arrow leaves the string. Since the arrow bends when you release the string, you can set up your brace height to allow the arrow to bend around the riser with little to no contact. There may be some noise resulting from that if your brace height is incorrect.
You can also get into harmonics and the amount of energy left in the bow. That can get convoluted and theoretical so I think I will pass on that for this thread.
