Just ordered a new Firefly with extra set of limbs.
40@28,3/4" and 55@28,3/4" with the riser in Bocote and Kingwood with Yellowheart/Maple accents and waterfall bubinga limbs with actionboo core :bigsmyl:
The service and follow up i`ve got from Jim is excellent.
Have any of you fellow bowhunters measured speed thru a chrono with these excellent bows?
And maybe some experience with Firefly bows to share?
Margly
Everyone I know is getting the Firefly bug. Started out with Drew,,then me and now Tim Fishell I know Kevin wants one,,LOL,, Steve will get bit too I'm sure,Outstanding bow,,I'm a better shot with my firefly than with anything I've ever shot. Th fit of the bow is what does it for me, I think. :saywhat: I neew to order a new set of limbs for it though,JB
ok tell me about the firefly how do they shoot i have looked at them too!nice looking bows what do the grips compare to thanks Ralph
My plan is to order one also, they are great bows and you wont find a better guy to deal with.
Terry
The grip Doesn't compare to anything. They are a normal grip, I guess I could say that, He didn't go and try to reinvent the grip of the bow.Very classic. Slightly lower wrist style with a nice locator in the throat. Arrow sits close to your hand,,
Today i`m shooting a homemade selfbow 35@28", an Bear Patriot Byron Fergusen 50@28" and a E-bagen (Swedish longbow) 40@29"
But think the Patriot is a little to stiff when i`m pulling the string. So i`m looking for something smooth, stable and quiet and think the Firefly might be it:)
Do anybody have some pics of Fireflys to share?
Margly

Wow this is beautiful craftmanship!! Really looking forward to this:)
Thanks!!

We may have to change the name of Buck Jam to the Firefly Camp or something like that. Since my old man picked that one up at the Bunny Stomp if Steve got one Kevin would be the only one left without one!!!
Tim...and it sounds like Jim Jones is planning on being back in camp too.... Awesome bows, and an Awesome guy!
Yeah buddy!! :campfire:
Tim & Drew,
Can you tell me what the final spray is on your bows, satin, gloss, semi gloss. I have one Jim is making for me and not sure what would look the best to bring out the grain, its a bubinga that looks like birds eye maple but dark.. , I've already called Jim once and changed it....Thanks for your help, Bill
Here are some pics of the new riser he designed called the route 66. Sweeeet!! (http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq157/HenryHammer/PICT0004-3.jpg) (http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq157/HenryHammer/PICT0003-4.jpg) (http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq157/HenryHammer/PICT0005-3.jpg)
both of mine are the non-glare hunter finish but look great!
Thanks Drew...I just might have to make a trip up to see Jim when he's ready to spray.
Jim can do any finish you want. My original Firefly is glossy, the one I just got is more medium, like a Satin finish which is what I asked for. And he can also do the Hunter's non-glare, which is almost flat.
The Fireflies are addictive that's for sure. I'm a "man of few bows" and I've already got two, and of course I'm going to have to have a "Route 66" don't you know! :D
I just took mine out of the box and it is more of a non glare finish so I am sure it is the same as Drew's.

Tim you flingin arrows on company time? Hahaha
No man I just asked my boss if I could put in an archery range out back but he told me the insurace companies probably would not like that to much!!! :banghead:
I recently was borrowed one from a good friend that was a lighter weight (41@ 28") to shoot due to some shoulder problems. The Firefly would not have been a bow I would have thought about purchasing but I was unbelievably impressed. It shoots exactly where I look and appears to be fairly quick. No handshock and very stable. The woods in the riser are Bocate and Texas Ebony with curly myrtle limbs. I can honestly say this is as nice of a bow I have ever shot. I decided to buy it from him after one week of shooting it. I have owned a Morrison, Blacktails, Widows. Griffin, 21st Century, and a JD Berry. I liked them all, all very nice bows but I can say I really like the feel, looks, craftsmanship and shootability of this Firefly.
I ordered a new firefly from Jim about a month ago: Macassar ebony riser with maple accents and waterfall bubinga veneers. To say that I'm counting the days till my hands are on it would be an understatement!
If they shoot as good as they look they are WINNERS !
I can never find the superlatives to describe my Firefly. To save me repeating myself go and take a look at what I said in 'product reviews'.
The more I shoot this bow the better it becomes. I have jsut about tried all the bows out there and nothing came close to the service, quality and joy of owning a Jim Jones bow. The bloke is a Christian as well - one of the few who walks the talk!!!

As a new Firefly owner, I also am struck by how beautiful and well built they are. Talking back and forth with Jim was a pleasure also.
This bow simply shoots right where I'm looking, and I dont know how that happens, only that I sure do appreciate it. My other bows I need to train with, adjust, fiddle with arrows, ....not the firefly. I put some test arrows through it, and was amazed by it.
They are fast, quiet, and really fun to shoot. I am going to own more. If you go to the Braveheart Archery website and click on the Firefly bows link, mine is the first testimonial there, feel free to read it, as it is too long to post here.
Actually Sutto, your post was the inspiration for me to contact Jim back when I was looking for a new bow....thanks!
Firefly's.....I love em.
Yep I love my FireFly, its not a barn burner but the smooth draw more than makes up for it! And like just about everyone has said, Jim is an absolute pleasure to deal with, stands behind his product and is a great guy.
