Title: Came to full draw and then
Post by: Wabash on February 22, 2009, 04:17:00 PM
POW! I'm standing there looking at my bow laying on the barn floor to my left, what a sick feeling. After assuming the worst I pick it up, its still strung so I bang the limbs hoping not to hear a rattling sound and it seems to be fine. Then I check out the arrow and notice the cock feather is sheered off, yep broken nock, I didn't realize I had released the string. First time this has happened to me in 20+ years of shootin. Scared the bleepin bleep outta me. Keep an eye on those nocks.

Happened to me last Monday.  Same thing.  Bow jumped out of my hand and either the string or the busted nock cut a half moon outta my nose....lol.

Yes.  It'll spook the crap out of you.

I had it happen twice last week...the first two times ever! Nock slipped off of the thin serving of my new to me Tembo. I thought I had busted my new bow!!

Happened to me once. Warming up for a 3D shoot.  Broke the tip off my longbow but it was repairable. Lamont from The footed Shaft let me use one of his for the shoot.

I had a home made bow break across the shelf, the third time I shot it.  The top limb smacked me across the nose and top lip.  My lip looked like a split hot dog that had been on the grill too long.  It took me a good two weeks to draw a bow without thinking or listening for a breaking or clicking sound.  At least your bow didnt break.

I had some older nocks on a few arrows. I had 2 break the same day. I went to the shop and bought new ones. They were only a dime each and havent had one break since. Scared the heck out of me..

I had that hapening on a Bob Lee Recurve that I had bought second hand.
Bottom Tip broke of, when I reached full draw.

I sent it in to Bob Lee and they repaired it free of charge even though I wasn´t the original owner and it was older than two years.

Great customer service!!!
