Alright guys, I'm on the list for a new habu. It's gonna be awhile, but I am having a hard time deciding on the hycurve limbs or the longbow limbs. Which one do you guys find easier to shoot? I know the longbow limbs are quieter etc, but which limb do you guys prefer for shooting. A person has offered to send me one with the hycurve limbs to try out, but I have never shot the new carbon longbow limbs, so I won't have much to compare it too, other than my regular takedown recurve. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Jon,
You've got a year to decide and agonize over this bud! The best news is it might get even tougher if Chris gets the carbon designed into the hycurve limbs!
I should have my new triple carbon longbow limbs soon (ya I know I said that three months ago!) and when I get them I'll do a comparison to the hycurve limbs and let you know. My feeling is there will be no comparison. Based on the double carbon limbs I broke, I expect the new triples to be faster, quieter, smoother and have less hand shock than the hycurve but I'll let you know. I'm getting two sets; one is 46# at 31" while the other is 56# at 31". My hycurve limbs are 56# @ 31" so I'll be able to do a honest comparison. I've also got an A&H ACS CX that's 47# @ 31" and a Centaur Dbl carbon that's the same weight so it'll be interesting to see how the 46# Habu limbs compare to these bows. I'm guessing they'll be slightly faster but I'll find out real soon (I hope!).
I'll post a comparison of all five setups, including speed and I'll shoot them close to a decible meter too, when I get the Habu so you have something else to think about!
Yes,
When Chris comes out w/ the triple carbon hycurve.I'll have one.
