(http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t53/kendalltechau/100_1522.jpg)I came up with this saddle for my G.N. Super Ghost.I tried a leather/stitched full grip but it bulked up the handle too much. This is easy to do. Cut the Beavertail leather to the size you want. Sand the flesh side with 80grit sandpaper getting it as thin as possible.Soak the saddle in water, pat excess water out. Form the saddle to your bows grip and wrap with Ace bandage.Let it dry for 24hrs. Apply Barge cement to the saddle, place the saddle on the bow, press on firmly and let it set-up for 24hrs. You can get tanned Beavertail from Moscow Hide&Fur.
Looks good! How does it feel, I was wondering if the edge felt different or if your able to get it thin enough to not feel it?
Makes for a great non-slip grip. You can sand it really thin so you don't feel the edge. I also skived the edge's with a skive tool.
Sweeet!
Wow Kendall thats looks super.Nice work there...bd
That looks awesome!!!
Looks great,I like that!
Thanks fellas. My old paws get alittle sweaty when I gotta nice buck heading my way,or when my wife finds that long box out in the ga***e that the mailman left before I do !!
Great idea! Looks nice.

I gotta' say that's one of the most prettiest, innovative grips I've seen. I hate to copy you, but I'm going to.........sorry.
Exactly what I've been looking for!
You can get several saddles out of one tail and a bunch of sideplates too!
Ooooooooooohhhhh..........
Sideplates too!
I already ordered one. I've done business with Moscow before and really like them.
Mine got here! Woo Hoo!!
I have been looking for a grip and nothing caught my eye septin' fer this.
Please pray all that I don't screw it up.
Impressive! That really looks nice!
Well, I made a spacer. It turned out great. Cut it with kitchen shears and used a big flexible nail file to finish. It's nice because the spacer I had before was a frogs A$$ hair too big. This tapers down just a bit and lets the arrow come closer to center.
What did you sand the saddle with? A block type deal or just your hands? Any good tips? ;)

That's a great idea. I like it.
Kendall, I generally don't like grips on my bows. You have invented an idea that is AWESOME. I just ordered the beavertail. Thanks
Hop on the wagon Flyrite!!

Great idea and great job !
When I got my superghost--Jerry put a saddle on it for me.The little bit extra leather in there made all the difference in the world.--I can't do pictures.

Well, I sanded the skin and soaked it. It's on the riser now wrapped in the Ace bandage. I kinda' made a grip/saddle. I'll post a pic of it before gluing.
That grip saddle and strike plate look really sweet.
....KY :archer:
Ok.....I didn't post a pic of the saddle before gluing. Sorry.
Two things I did wrong that I will learn from. I wrapped the Ace bandage so tight when the skin was drying to the shape, that now you can see the weave pattern. Also when I glued I wrapped one way. What happened is the saddle moved with the wrap. Next time I'll criss-cross the wrap so it stays in center.
All in all I'm very happy with it. It feels good without adding any bulk. AND looks pretty to boot!
Thanks Kendall for a great idea!!!

Dude...........I just shot two arrows and it feels WONDERFUL! It's like having a beaver Pachmeyer grip!
Shameless bumb because I'm still proud of myself. LOL!
That looks GREAT! nice design. You really don't have to wrap it when you glue it on. The saddle form fits to the handle from soaking it up,wrapping and drying overnight.

Thanks Kendall, I couldn't have done it without your genius.
