Tell me about them, show me pics, something, I got Assenheimer on the brain!
I'll add to the fever. I had one for a couple of years. I really liked it. It was fast and stable and good looking. Shot where I pointed it. I had too many bows. So I sold it. Sometimes I think that was dumb but I really didn't need it. But it was a good bow. Gary
I have one. I am a computer idiot so cant post pics. They are very smooth well built bows. Did I mention quiet.
Have one will post pics later, awesome bows, quiet very quick though not super fast but above all very easy to shoot...would put them in the top 10 for shootability, maybe top 5.
They are beautiful bows and shoot nice! I used to have an older one with 2 sets of limbs but just didn't fit my hand well. Sold it ot another Trad-ganger here.

Just got a new one 2 days ago that I ordered from Donnie at Cloverdale. I'll post a few pics tonight when I get home.
I have a Master Hunter Elite....decent speed, smooth draw, nice grip that suits my shooting style, and probably the quietest recurve I've ever shot.
I have owned a bunch of bows and the Assenheimer has the BEST finish of any bow I've ever seen or owned.
Billy
I have a nice lefty, they are smooth, quiet, reasonably fast, and real easy on the eyes.

Pretty bow Otto!
Wow Otto! That bow is good looking. Gary
I have a 64" - 48 lbs., very smooth shooter. Extremely quiet, puts out good speed with a 2016 Easton Legacy. One other thing..... Don Assenheimer and his wife are super people to deal with and Don stands behind his product 110%. If you haven't already, check his website out for bow combinations/pictures.

Dave.....I had to have SOMETHING to replace those RER bows I just sold!!!!!!
Bob, I have purchased four Assenheimers, my wife shoots one and my son shoots one. I personally don't think I will ever shoot anything else. I just got my latest one that I ordered at Cloverdale as well. Well worth the wait.
Several may say they are not that fast, but for me they are plenty fast enough for the quietness.
If your interested in used, I have a 60# at 29" I'm selling. The riser is the action wood camo with the limbs to match. It's a 1997 bow, however it's like new. I'm the original owner and only have shot the bow two seasons. I have a Selway bolt on quiver and a case custom made for it by Kelly that I'm selling with it. Donny just went over it last summer and tweaked the limbs for me. You can email me for pics if you'd like. I'm asking $350 plus shipping for all.
I've never owned one, but have shot a couple. Good shootin' bows. Living in central Ohio, I hear a lot of talk about them. I've yet to hear a bad comment about the bow or the man.
Thanks for all the comments
I have 2 risers and 2 sets of limbs- Both risers custom high wrist both cocobolo with ebony, and one set of bomboo cored Yew veneer limbs and a pair of bamboo cored wild cherry veneers(my daughters limbs-24@24"draw)

Thanks guys but i have such a lng draw I want a 66" finshed around 50-53# at 32.5" draw, which I have a feeling I'll have to have him build.
I used to have one. Then I started working out...and it went away!
Dan
Wissler those are some beautiful looking bows .I'm getting the same itch as Bob.!LOL
Ive owned several Assenheimers over the years. In my quest to shoot other bows I have sold or traded every one of them. Big mistake on my part.
I got one from a fellow trad ganger for my moose hunt this fall. It is the quietest recurve I have ever shot and I love the grip. The arrow sits almost right on my hand. It's 62" and 60" @ 28 but you would never know it because it's so smooth. You can't go wrong with one !
I once had a 66", 55# @ 28". I draw recurves 31-1/2"-32". It was a nice bow. Well built, reasonable performance.
There is one on "the auction site" right now.
I have been shooting Don's bows since 1985. The original bow that I bought was 66 inch 68lb limbs. Since age has taken its toll (on me) I'm shooting 55lb on the original handle. I have sold over 10 bows for Don, just letting other people shoot mine. You can't go wrong with an Assenheimer.
I have never felt one, whats the weight of his recurve like, is it a failry heavy Riser?
Bob L.
Not at all. I think Widows have a heavy riser (not a slam against Widows, I only own 5 of em). Don's risers have gotten slimmer over the years. One of the first bows that Don made for me, back in 1997 I think, had a fairly blocky riser. Not heavy, but kind of chunky feeling in the hand. The risers he's making today are slim and trim and weight wise, I'd say they're in the middle of the pack for a TD recurve.
Thanks Otto,
I actually want a little weight for stability, I have a Toelke Td with Bubunga Riser that might actually be a little to light for me. Is cocobola and bocote a heavier weight than Bubinga?
Bob L.
Of the 3 woods you listed, Bocote is the lightest with a specific gravity of .64, followed by Bubinga with an SG of .88, and Cocobola is the heaviest with an SG of 1.10.
Hope that helps. FWIW, I've seen an Assenheimer made from Coco and my brother has one made from Bocate. Both are drop dead gorgeous. The center section of mine on the first page of this thread is coco.
